While watching tv on our new 42in.lcd flat screen and hooked up to our new hd cable box from comcast there are intermitent total signal losses from 3-5 seconds . Tv says searching for signal for a few seconds on and off throught the day. Sometimes just goes to no signal and stays there and I have to unplug the hdmi cable to Tv and then plug back in and signal comes back. At first called Sanyo TV and they came and replaced motherboard on TV. When problem continued I got a new hd cable box. After 1-2 days the problem started up again. Is it the box, comcast signal issue or whatever. Any input would be appreciated as wife is driving me crazy because you know the signal kicks out right at her favorite part of any show she is watching wether hd channel or not.

My Brand New 40" westing

To get HD channel form your cable TV without using the cable provider HD tuner box but using your TV Clear QAM tuner (your TV has Clear QAM tuner, my TV also has QAM tuner so I do not have to use the cabel box, but my COMCAST does not provide may Clear QAM signals like they use to) to get the unscrambled HD, the cable provider must provide those unscrambled Clear QAMsignals for your TV to pick up the signalS.

Did you use the correct setup during the tuner setup to scan the availabel cable channel per user manual?

New flat screen hdtv has a fuzzy picture

Yes you will get a better picture quality out of a cable box if you get an HD cable box.
The reason you are getting the diminished picture is due to the signal you are feeding the TV is an analog signal. The newer HD TV's are made for digital TV and this older technology shows all its flaws on this type of TV.

When you get the new box understand that the same channels you are getting plugged directly into the tv are still going to have some grainy look to them but the good thing is that a lot of them are starting to be rebroadcast on HD channels and that is where your new toy will truly shine.

Enjoy your new TV...

Good Luck...

Significant volume decrease when using Comcast cable box

This low audio problem happened to me suddenly yesterday. I powered off over night - no change. I plugged the A/V cables into a second TV - no change. I called Comcast - problem solved.
Tap these buttons on the remote;

Don't know where to hook cable wire into my W4207-Flat Screen

Nice tv - but its a monitor, so there will NOT be a RG6 cable connection on the set. you have to provide a tuner to get signals OR use a cable box, sat box, etc.

Green Line in Philips 42TA648BX/37 42" LCD

Just a guess. Try to get hold of a different cable box & see if you have the same problem. If so, problem is with cable box.

Connecting HD cable box to DVR too HDTV

When I hooked up my HD cable box using an HDMI cable, I had to go into the cable screen menus and select HDMI output. You may have to do something similar when using an S-video cable. Your DVD recorder doesn't seem to have an HDMI input, so you'll have to use the S-video or (worst case) composite video (red, white, yellow cords). Your cable box may also be scrambling the signal so that you can't record. That may be why you can record by bypassing the cable box.

No Non-Hd sound

I had the exact same problem on a brand new Insignia 26 " LCD with DVD. Comcast tech was able to fix it by changing the Comcast box diagnostics. Here is what he did. Using the Comcast remote with the TV on - press power, cable, menu in that order. A comcast diagnostic srceen will appear. Select Additional HDMI options, then audio options. Change the audio options to L-PCM. Press power again to exit the diagnostics. That will fix it and you get to use the HDMI cable.

Magnavox 15" LCD TV

If the LCD only has coax, it will never display a HD picture quality. However, the Comcast HD Box will still display a picture using the coax connection. So, you could watch any HD channel, but the picture quality will not be high definition.
