Thanks guys! ..it wound up it just takes a really really really long time to load up..i gave up trying and this morning it was at my desktop...my dad's computer(which is an hp almost like mine), does the same thing...but this never happened to me before so i was nervous...maybe a new time for a computer since this one is old and cramped up with stuff.

but to clarify a little more, when you turn on my computer, it shows like the hp and intel symbols in a blue and white screen, then it loads to whatever, well it stayed at that beginning blue screen with the options f1 for setup?(i think) and f10(system recovery) on the bottom of the screen..

but thank you guys anyways..i appreciate it!

I had this problem with my hp twice.
Each time it was a bad power connection.

make sure your 20\24 pin motherboard connector and the four pin motherboard connector is secured. Take them out if you have to and replace them.

My hp a310n crashed so redid the operating system and now the monitor lite just blinks i immediately thought the intergraded card was bad so i put a pci card in it worked but it will freeze up a few sec...

The problem is XP OS. It has failed to boot and you need an updated OS. Get Windows 10, it should work in that computer if you boost the memory to its max of 1 Gig.

Obviously, I would save that money by investing in a 2017-18 computer with Win 10 operating system. You need Win 10 for speed, features, and security. Do It.

My computer screen is stuck on hp logo nothing including key is responding my computer is stuck on hp invent screen.... it wont go past that, doesnt respond to f8 or esc. HELP

Sounds like a faulty hard drive that is locking up the system. Take out the hard drive completely and turn on the computer and see if it goes past the HP screen. If it does then the hard drive is bad. If it still locks up on you then reseat the memory one stick at a time in one slot at a time. If this doesnt work then you might be having motherboard issues.

Try these things and let me know what happens and I'll help you further.

Display screen stuck on hp invent - buttons don't work

This is apparently a common problem with this model, but HP has not offered any help with it. Mine did it a few weeks ago and I found the solution in another thread on fixya. Follow this link and then open the back of the printer and disconnect the wireless card as described by Maggix. It will kill your wireless capability but let the printer start working again.
