I have a rattle in my rear Mavic Ksyrium elite hub. The Dura Ace 10-speed cassette appears to be loose even when fully torqued to specs.

SOURCE: I have 2006 mavic Ksyrium elite wheels having done

Could be the sealed bearings, just like a car, nothing gets better by itself if it is loose. With expensive wheels, take it to a shop unless you know what you are doing and have the proper tools. Why mess it up so that no one can fix it? Yes, I own 4 large bike stores and sell over 5000 bikes a year, anywhere from $325. to $12,000 models, so I do speak from experience. People are always amazed that the bike sometimes needs a tune up, Well, your car needs it too, but somehow a sewing machine or a bike shouldn't have to? Hummmm, interesting.
Take it to your dealer and let him advise you, this is not a do it yourselfer. Don't be surprised if you need a new chain, they stretch.

How do I replace a Tracomp spoke on a Mavis Ksyrium SLR rear wheel? Can't work out how to release the hub end.

I believe you'll have to undo the spoke at the rim end (Mavic uses a torx style head on the nipple). With the hub end of the spoke, looks like a ball but with two flat sides. When the spoke is tensioned it seats the ball end into the straight pull flange. This style is used in pretty much all of Mavic's high end wheel sets (Road or Mountain). Some have a plastic clip-on type cover. This can be removed with a flat head screwdriver. Good Luck!

I have 2006 mavic Ksyrium elite wheels having done less than 500 miles. The rear cassette is certainly tight enough but i can rock the cassette by about 1-1.5mm by holding the 25 ring? We've opened it all...

Wheel does not stay true

Check if your spoke are tight enought, sometimes if the spokes are loosen the wheels will bent really easy.

HELLO, I HAVE A DURA ACE 7900 MODEL CASSETTE AND WOULD LIKE TO PUT IT ON A KSYRIUM SL RIM, DO I HAVE TO PUT THE SPACER ON IT BEFORE THE WHOLE CASSETTE GOES ON? THE CASSETTE IS A 12-25 GEAR.

In my experience with Shimano cassettes on Mavic wheels, the answer is "yes" but i had a mountain wheel and cassette. The only way to know is to put it on and see if there is slop in the fitment. If there is, then you have your answer. i also had this problem with Mavic: i had to adjust the high and low settings on my rear derailleur because of the awkward spacing of the Mavic freehub. Just something you should be aware of in case you have difficulty with shifting after the install. By the way - although they are inferior cassettes, SRAM cassettes seem to fit Mavic freehubs better.

Squealing noise for no apparent reason rear wheel when freewheeling

Could be a bearing..
If there is a grease fitting - try pumping some grease into it..
Other than that - try some penetrating oil or white lithium grease where the bearing are..

Noise from ksyrium back hub

The mavic hubs need to be disassembled and cleaned/lubed every few thousand miles. I suggest you take it into the local bike shop to have the work done unless you are a fairly good mechanic. It is rather simple to overhaul but it could be a headache if done incorrectly.

Hope this helps!
