My 360 wont read the disc. it keeps saying open tray. i do that and it wont load the game and open tray pops back up. sometimes it will play after a long time of opening and closing thetray

If your Xbox 360 will not play your games this is because of the sensors on the back of the drive overheating it is not normally the laser.

This is quite a common error.

1, the disc may be dirty
2. the mian reason for this your xbox drive cannot read the disc , because the power of the lens is gone(not completely) ,

solution:

1. keep your disc inside the drive and switch off the console, again swith on try this 2 to 3 time
2. keep the console in vertical position or little slanding position(180 dg) make sure it does not fall

3. its better to buy hatddisc and load the game inside it , so that u lens life increased

4. change the entire drive

Hi friend try this:

1) Restart your console.
2) Check for loose cables.
3) Pull out all the cables, and get them back in.
4) Take out the hard-drive, and put it back in. Repeat this 4 times.

if the problem still persists then you need to replace your disc drive.

Call microsoft at 1-800-4-MYXBOX

Check if theres anything blocking the disc drive.If that doesn't work each game has a warranty.

it could be that u got **** like food in your x box360 open it up and clean it out put it back to gether and try it if this dose not work tell me at [email protected] ty

common xbox flaw mine does the same ,just keep opening and closeing the tray till it reads the disk,this can be very annoying .your dvd tray is probally on the way out

It sounds like you will need a drvie replacement or motor. Sometimes the magnetic disc on the motor comes loose and it sticks to the top of the dvd drive cover and causes it to not function. We can fix this for you if your interested email us.
