Poor quality print. How can I perform head calibration and gap adjustment?

There is not a head calibration for this printer. There is a phasing adjustment if your print looks "shaky" or to adjust the gap you use the 2 3/32" allen screws on either side of the platen bar.

With the printer powered on, press the “ONLINE” key to place the printer offline. The LCD should display “OFFLINE/CONFIG. CONTROL”. On the control panel, press the arrow up and arrow down keys at the same time to unlock the enter key. “ENTER SWITCH UNLOCKED” briefly displays.

Press the arrow left key. “OFFLINE/DIAGNOSTICS” displays.

Press the arrow down key. “DIAGNOSTICS/Printer Tests” displays.

Press the arrow down key. “Printer Tests/Shift Recycle” displays.

Press the arrow left key until “Printer Tests/Phase Printer” displays.

Press “ENTER”. The display shows “Printer Tests/Phase Printer” and the test begins. The current phasing value is printed on the left of the printed pattern of all H’s. As the pattern prints, examine the H’s to verify the vertical lines are straight.

If the H’s are vertically straight and you are satisfied with the print quality, press “ENTER” to stop the test and then press “CLEAR” to exit the test menu.

If the H’s are not straight you will need to adjust the phasing value.

Press the arrow down key. The current phase index displays.

Press the arrow down key. An asterisk (*) appears next to the phase value.

Press the arrow right key to increase the phase value, press the arrow left key to decrease the phase value. Then press the “ENTER” key to activate the new value as it prints.

Watch the printout for the new phase value to print on the left edge of the line of H’s. Examine that line for print quality. Continue to make adjustments until you are satisfied with the print quality.

When the printed pattern of H’s is acceptable, press the arrow up key twice until “Printer Tests/Phase Printer” displays.

Press the “ENTER” key to stop the test.

Whe i boot up my printer it automaticaly prints out one label with leters on the top left corner and after that every other label i print out comes out with those leters can some one help me asap ...i need...

Sounds like a driver issue that is adding extra characters into the print script. Make sure your printer supports PostScript or PCL. PCL is the most common and works with all printer. PostScript requires a PostScript Chip installed in the printer. Download the latest driver either from the Printronix website or CNET.com

Gap not detected

GAP NOT DETECTED error in displayProduct: T5000rSymptom

GAP NOT DETECTED error in display.
Possible Cause

Dirty media sensors, wrong label length
Recommend Solution

Clean the upper and lower media sensors by spraying them with dry air. This should bedone every time the media (label stock) is changed.

Before running the Auto-Calibrate operation, check the QUICK SETUP or MEDIA CONTROL menu for the 'Label Length' parameter. It should be set to the length of the label, not counting the gap.

Check that the sensor type has been set in CALIBRATE CTRL menu to match the media and ribbon.
"Gap" Select when using media with a liner space between die-cut labels or when using tag stock with notches or holes as label length indicators.
"Mark" Select when using media that has horizontal black marks located on the underside of the label liner or tag stock.
"Advanced Gap" Select when media is gapped but also has a dark background.
This sensor arrangement looks through the ribbon, and will not work if ribbon is too dark.
"Advanced Notch" Select when media has a notch that is placed in a dark line on the back of the stock.

Check the position of the media sensor. It should pass through the center of gaps or marks or notches, but not through pre-printed areas if possible.

Run Auto-Calibrate in CALIBRATE CTRL menu, which sets Gap and Paper Out Thresholds

Printronix T5000r syntax to print

It's been several years since I had to program these.

try this
""""
4 sets of double quotes

or this
"''"
double quote, single quote, single quote, double quote.

It's too bad I didn't have my manuals back when I was working for Pitney Bowes. If those don't work I'll see if I can Google the PCL manuals on Google.

Printronix T5000r Label Syntax to print " character

It is a syntax error.

It should read:

D;POINT;075;095;12;6;"text"

You might be able to get away with this:

D;POINT;075;095;12;6;"test";"text"

quotes have to be in sets of two and elements have to be seperated by semicolons.
