My computer screen wont turn on the power is on

this might sound really silly but some laptops after a while get a glitch where they cant power down fully and go into sleep or hibernate adn i have seen it happen to people who do not allow the battery to completely drain occasionally, had a family members did this recently. Just to rule it out turn it on and shen you hear fans and see lights even with no desktop, press and hold on the power button 3-5 sec until it shuts itself down, then do a normal start when you can see no lights or hear any sounds. Does the screen come on?
-What is on the screen?
--What happens when it fails?
Does a light come on the tower?
-Does a light come on in the power supply (where the computer plugs into the wall)?
Do you hear any beeping?
Do you hear any fans going?
Does the power supply fan (Where the computer plugs into the wall) try to start & fail?
-Or does it not try at all?

Most likely it's a power issue.

sound to me like a video problem. no beep codes, you hear the fan going so it must be posting. could you try with other monitor and or cable? is there power to monitor? reseat cable at both ends( monitor+ pc)

try rebooting your coumpter is in sleep mode it takes a long time but you will get it back on .... keep pushing the power button aventally it will start up

Remove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

Replace the fan or your computer will run hot and keep turning off.

Or are you saying this is what happens when you power on the computer? if so: When you press the power button do you hear fansrunning, hard drive spinning, lights on the computer, hear any beeps or lightsconstantly blinking, hear the DvD/CD drive click and the light on the drawer ofthe DvD/CD turn on for a second or two? If so the laptop is trying toboot or may have booted, but the screen is not showing for some reason.

Beep tones and blinking lights tells the technicians what is going on with thelaptop and why it is not booting. Most times it's a motherboard issuewhen you hear beeps or blinking lights continuous.

2.check monitor and cpu power
3.when you power on your cpu, do you actually hear the fan turning or see your power led light up?
4. what OS are you using?
5. Feel the rear fan or your CPU, is it blowing out air?
