Upload Speeds Slow, Ping High

Internet Connection... Upload speeds are extremely slow, as well as extremely high ping (1500), although download speeds are fine (same as ISP had claimed.)

I have an Acer Aspire X1700, and after contacting the ISP they said it was an issue with my computer's networking card (because internet speeds were fine after disconnecting my computer from the modem)

Why does it freeze trying to,get programs

Typically stream freezing is caused by a slow Internet, or download speed. Unfortunately most Internet service providers don't give you their full speeds as advertised, and some actually "throttle-down" you speed during heavy usage periods, leaving the user wondering why everything got so slow. 5Meg download speeds are sufficient to handle a single High-Def stream, yet uninterrupted lower resolutions can be achieved at just over 1Meg. Then there's the compression technology used to send the stream. Netflix for instance has excellent compression, and will also automatically detect a slower connection, reducing the quality, or resolution, delivered.
You can try testing your upload, and download speeds at a number of test sites... Try Googling "Speed test" here's an example: Speedtest net by Ookla The Global Broadband Speed Test
Unfortunately these tests don't provide a complete picture of what's happening when applied to streaming results, as providers usually allow a few minutes of top speed initially then begin their slow-down.
I'm able to stream two separate movies, uninterrupted, from Netflix, at just under 3Meg, on DSL. Some cable providers claim high speeds, but curiously are unable to deliver uninterrupted streams unless you upgrade your service at an additional monthly cost?

RT-AC66U slow download speeds

Run a test of your internet using www.speedtest.net. You should be seeing ping less than 100 ms, and your download and upload speeds will vary depending on your service. Do you have cable, isdn, dsl, or fiber? cable and fiber should give you speeds of at least 10Mb down 10 Mb up, ISDN and DSL should give you speeds around 500kbps down and 250kbps up.

Annoying Wireless network connection problems!

Try changing the channel number in the router for the Wi FI add 3 to the minimum channel number.
It is possible you have a neighbour with wi fi and by adding three to the channel number you give some space separation to allow more bandwidth on the WI FI channel.
when this slow down occurs ping the router address (default gateway ip) and see if ping is quick. This will eliminate WI FI as slow point. Try using tracert instead of ping to see if bottlenecks occur in network or internet.

Online play is very choppy and I often get kicked off line.

Hello,
There are a number of things that can cause this, namely your internet speed.

Make sure you have high speed internet with at least 10mbps download and 1mbps upload for best results. Game play can also be affected by wireless. If you are connected to your router via wireless, try using a network cable instead. If your wireless signal quality varies a lot it can cause disruptions in your connection. If you have any P2P programs running such as emule, limewire, torrents, etc... Shut them down as they tend to sap your upload speed which in turn, affects your game. If your computer is not that fast and doesn't play the game without online mode very well, it could be worse online being you are now rendering more elements into the game. Lastly, EA Servers may be over loaded at peak hours which could also affect your game play.

Check your internet speed here http://www.speedtest.net and also your link quality here: http://www.pingtest.net

Make sure your ping is at least below 80ms and your link quality is A or C. Any less and you may have trouble playing some online games. And again, for the speed, it's good to have at least 10mbps download and 1mbps upload. My connection is 50mbps download and 3mbps upload with ping grade A and ping 3ms, so I have never had any problems myself with online games and real-time streaming J

Hope this helps!

Slow speed, slow connection, drops connection

You need to contact your service - DSL cable - company to check the ping rate between your modem and there server. Typically this happens when they are working on, or upgrading there servers. They know what the ping rate should be and can fix it from there end

I am having slow connection speeds. I called my

check your configuration on your PC, see if it is pointing on a DNS that was previously identified. Make sure it is in automatic. also check your router as well as the signal strength. I suggest don't use the router and directly connect your computer to the internet connection just to check the speed and compare. if it is ok then your router is your problem. check its configuration and set it properly.

I get kicked due to high ping what should i do?

When choosing a server try to sort the list by ping rate and go with the lowest ping you can that is offering the map and amount of players you are looking for. If you frequently get disconnected or see connection_error on your screen while playing it could be a problem with your actual internet connection dropping packets. To test that you will need to ping a well known server like google or microsoft and see what ping times you get and if any packets are lost. This can by done by clicking start -> run and typing cmd then pressing ok. In the dos box that pops up type ping -n 20 www.google.com and press enter. Significant packet loss and high ping times could mean your connection is saturated from other downloads/uploads, there is some bad cabling or network hardware somewhere, or your ISP is having some problems. If you are connected to a router or other network equipment and assuming you have a high speed connection try connecting directly to the modem provided to you and see if that helps. If the problem continues you will need to contact your internet provider for additional troubleshooting.

Ping is high at closest server. But low at servers much further

hello there i have built many wifi networks and install networks for server hosts.
I would try setting your port forward to the correct port that xbox live runs on.
also uncheck Qos (quality of service) this will throttle bandwidth, you want this off.
