HS-23 Not Being Recognized by Phone

Hello, I've had the Nokia 6133 for about 2 months, nearing the 3rd, and I've been using the Nokia HS-23 Headset with it for music and calls. However recently, more like just today, the headset wouldn't be recognized when connected to the phone. Usually when the headset is connected a small headset icon will pop up and I'll be able to listen to my music or talk on my phone. All my equipment is basically brand new and I've kept it quite nice. I've used the headset with the same phone for 2 months now and I've connected it and disconnected as the instructions directed me to. I'm not sure how to proceed so I'm here to ask for advice. Thank you in advance.

All those didn't work I just emailed Nokia and sent it in. They'll exchange me one for free. Thanks for the advice though.

Rub the pins of your headset, and your phone with some tissue paper or something like that.
You might use some cleansining agent like alcohol.

Switch off your phone while doing that.

I too encounter such problems.

HS-23 problem disconnected

Assuming that the joint which connects the neck strap has been damaged ( see below image )

, I advice you fix the loosed or broken joint back in its proper place permanently by using fevi kwik or some other fast bonding adhesive, but the only problem which will remain is that each time you have to use the headset you will have to wear it through your head andremove it the same way.

Headset not Supported

Nokia HS-3 is a stereo headset.
Your phone does not support stereo.
So Use mono Headsets like HS-5.
Nokia 9300 is a stereo supported phone and hence works with the headset fine.

HS-23 Nokia Headset

hey kev.. all i can ask you is ... the following 1) open the ear piece of the non working .. then take a multimeter (keep meter in resistance mode) and check the resitance if its good it will show you.. apx 32 0hm and if its showing you 0 or .1 or below 16 ohms.. 2) after you disconnect the speaker.. the broken one that is... chek the cable connectivity.. or rather continuity.. for this keep the meter in continuity mode the pervious resistance mode.. then take one wire and connect one prob from meter to it.. and take the other prob and connect ti too the pins of the cnnector.. ( here is there are 4 pins dedicated to the ear phone.. 2 for each.. nd they are towards the end sid.. just below the # key.. frm # key the last 4 pins connectors are for audio.. ) check the.. pins on the cord connector not the phone.. i hope you can find what wrong with your... head set now.. and yeah if the speaker is out jsut replace both the ear piece with sony or aiwa earphones.. it wil work best if your cable is gone then all the best buy a new one tc aditya
