Hello! I have an Insignia NS-39DR510NA17 TV, which after a couple of thunderstorms started rebooting itself randomly, and now it won't turn on. How do I know if the power board is damaged logic board

Recently my TV was not even able to connect to internet, and was rebooting several times during the process. Finally, I reset it, but didn't solve the problem. Yesterday it decided that doesn't want to turn on at all. The standby led is on, but when I checked power board 5 volt pins read zero. However, 12 and 24 volt pins are active and I measure the exact values.

SOURCE: Monitor won't turn on, no led.

I am having the same problem with one of these monitors, however, i'm in a unique situation. I have one that works and one that doesn't.

I narrowed it down to being the power controller / video signal processing circuit board in this LCD. When I swapped this part alone (after checking the power supply very carefully), the dead monitor came to life. The model number of this part (Manufactured by LG, NOT SONY) is LHS73K. The Version 1.2 is the dead one, the version 1.3 is the good one. Even though the plastic connectors are slightly different, the pinouts are the same and the pins do line up, so I swapped the controllers, and the dead monitor came to life. I notice the dead controller card's GENESIS IC gets slightly warmer than it does with the working one.

I took some high resolution pictures of the 2 cards, and highlighted (light yellow boxes) some differences....

(i'm hosting the pictures on my own file server because they are 1.5mb each, and fixya puts a limit on the file size you can attach a picture with)

Working v1.3 Image:

Dead v1.2 Image:

I am going to do some more work and see if I can bypass the soft-switch with a hard-switch to turn the power supply on in the dead monitor, if that works, i'll update the post and let everyone know what and how I did it.

5 times blinks shows White Balance error in tv. You need to adjust Screen Volts (G2) and problem will resolve. Screen volts controls located at Focus Block as shown in below picture.

SOURCE: Insignia TV model NS-LCD26A power up problems

you are correct power pack has bad capacitors, doing what you did may have damaged other components in the power pack, or main video board. let me know what you want to do.

SOURCE: My modem keeps resetting at random times...

This is a firmware problem and the only way to resolve it is to do a firmware update on that device and you can get the firmware from the device manufacturer so you can load it to that modem...

This step may could depend on the model of your Insignia TV. The following applies to the Insignia 39" NS-39DR510NA17 . For the first time setup, press the Home button on the Roku remote and select the Antenna TV icon. Use the on-screen prompts to scan for channels.

For subsequent scans, press the Home button on the remote. Select the Settings icon. Navigate to Settings > TV Inputs > Antenna > Scan Again for channels. Select Start finding channels and use the on-screen prompts.

To watch TV, you can use the Antenna TV icon. Alternatively, change the TV source to Antenna TV from the TV Input list. With the TV on, quickly press and release the Power button to see the Input list. Press and release the Power button as needed to navigate between available inputs.

The manual for the NS-39DR510NA17 is available on the product support page: https://www.insigniaproducts.com/pdp/NS-39DR510NA17/4863802 . NS-39DR510NA17

I don't think Insignia knows anything about customer service. I just went to their website (user blog) and everyone has the same issue about the availability of their online user guides. Your particular TV has no link to the manual. I recommend contacting Insignia: https://www.insigniaproducts.com/contact-us

I have sound and picture distortion (like what happens during a thunderstorm) in my 42 inch insignia lcd tv but not during storms. started about two weeks ago, happens intermittently. driving me nuts. is...

Your probably having what cable guys call a SNR ( signal to noise ) issue. There's no way to know unless you call your cable provider. The SNR should be 32 and above with zero pre/post errors. In case you want to ask the tech what they are.
