I have a Yamaha RX-V571 AV Receiver and the published codes don't work for my Comcast silver remote w/ Red OK button. Managed to make it work while living in MD. Now in FL, have new remote and don't remember how I made it work before. Would love some help. T Y
The receiver is in forced standby because an internal error has been detected. The condition occurs when there is an internal failure, a wiring related problem (e.g. bad cable), or a wrong voltage from power source is detected (e.g. power surge).
At user level troubleshooting consists in disconnecting power cord, waiting ten or twenty minutes and connecting back (power reset), or in checking cables connected to the unit, replacing cables and restarting the receiver with no cable connected.
If that does not help, then there is an internal failure.
In that case contact Yamaha at the number listed in the owners manual.
Look on page 99 of the manual. It's a parameter you have an option to change to Variable. Fix lets Zone 2 or 3 have a Fixed volume level independent of the volume control on the Yamaha. Variable makes them dependent on the control.
You can use a hi-level to low-level adapter. Just remember, the Yamaha does not send power (wattage) to the sub, just signal. You need to use a subwoofer that has an amplifier either externally or built in.
I would imagine it's eitehr a Region problem or a parental level problem.
Ensure the region DVD matches the Region of your DVD player.
Also check the parental rating level within the DVD player is not active or set to 18.
