I would use Mercury 2 stroke oil...it comes in a black bottle with a red label. Also you can use Quicksilver brand...that is made by Mercury but marketed to sell to stores like Wal Mart. If you are breaking in a new or rebuilt engine then you mix 100:1 for the first two tanks. Any normal application you should be running 50:1 all the time. Keep in mind that I have been to Mercury School and this is coming straight from the horses mouth. No matter what it says on the tank, or what anyone else tells you...you should always be running at 50:1 unless you are in the break in period of the engine.

What oil to use for a yardworks gas mower 060-1648, 060-1649, 060-1658

Hi , There's two different types of mower oil, There's the oil for the sump (4 stroke mowers ONLY) Ask at the local lawn mower repair store for the oil type and the 2 stroke grade, it's just two stroke oil you add to the gas (2 stroke mowers ONLY) If you own a 2 stroke mower then yes you actually add the oil to the gas before you put it in the gas tank (25 to 1 ratio) but If you own a 4 stroke mower then NO you DON'T put the oil in the gas tank. There is (two) capes, 1 for the gas and the 2nd cap is there somewhere for the oil.... Have a look at the link below... CHEERS..

I have a 1998 model E25RMECA I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TYPE GAS TO USE IN IT. AND IF IT IS 2 CYCLE OR 4CYCLE.

I found a mixture of sites for the information
one owner of a 1998 25 hp evinrude says that it is a 2 stroke with a fuel mix ratio of 50:1 as 25:1 is a bit smokey
another site says that the recommended octane fuel rating is 87 although it might run better on 91
best advice is to find an evinrude service dealer and get the right information as the later 25 hp units are etec engine which will be 4 strokes

Fuel mix for 25cc trimmer

For two stroke engines of this capacity the ratio of fuel to two stroke oil is (25:1) 25 fuel to 1 (two stroke) oil. Eg 200 ml of two stroke oil to 5 litres of fuel.

Need gas misture ratio for trimmer SRM2501

pauly46 here
'
the ratio you should use is 50:1

that is 20 mils of 2 stroke oil for every 1.0 litre of petrol that you mix

so if you want to make 2 litre mix use 40 mils of 2 stroke oil , then add 2 litres of petrol only and give good shake

note use good quality 2 stroke oil , such as sthil or husqvarna oil from your outdoor power shop

but if using general 2 stroke oil from a garage use 40 mils of oil for every 1 litre that you mix
this ratio is 25:1 this mix is on the richer side

cheers hope this helps

Confused a little

A 4 stroke motor does NOT have Oil in the Fuel. There is NO fuel mixture. Just use regular gas. The only place you need oil is in the sump, and regular 20/30 motor oil will be fine. This only needs to be replaced when low on dipstick in crankcase.
