First check your speakers with any media player. If this sounds OK then keep the volume level up/same sothat you can hear any sound from speaker. Now Check the input & output devices in sonar (Select the appropriate device). Put any audio file in a track in Sonar & check...

If you are not a regular user of Sonar then it is better to switch to another DAW which are better (at least in my openion) before you are used to Sonar.
I'd suggest "Nuendo" of Steinberg, it is highly professional, far better & far more user friendly than Sonar. I've used both...

How download this program on mac Os

Download is different from Install. It does not look like you can purchase and download Cakewalk SONAR 7 Producer directly from Cakewalk. However, to install on a Mac, you either need BootCamp, or a virtual machine (VM) solution such as VMWare, Parallels, or VirtualBox, and a valid Windows 7 or 8 install.

On sonar home studio 6 xl. If i play something i hear only 3 seconds music and than it stops. What can i do?

This sounds like the software still thinks it isn't registered to you.

Do you have a registration button in the program interface?

If you have already registered the program or registration isn't required, try loading Sonar on another box and see if it's just a compability problem with your hardware.

I have cakewalk music creator 2002 and sonar, they won't install on my new computer Vista 64bit. My question is, do i need to repurchase these products or is there a quick fix. Thank You. Jack

call cakewalk, their product might not be compatible with 64bit OS. They might offer a patch or workaround. And you could also try running as admin in compatibility mode.

Stuttering during audio playback in Sonar

The stuttering is caused by excessive CPU usage, in other words: you have too little CPU power to play the file with the inserted synth smoothly. You could try inserting a different synth or play with the rendering-options of the synth (like disabling aliasing, etc.) or increase the audio buffer size (under audio options ?), but the only longterm solution is upgrading to a much faster computer.

Even when you find some tweak which lets you play the file (just) smoothly, adding another effect or synth is likely to cause it to stutter again, since your computer doesn't meet the official (!) minimal requirements for running Cakewalk Sonar 6, which is at least a Pentium 4 1.3GHz computer (and you have a 1.0GHz computer).

I would recommend upgrading your computer to something which at least meets the "recommend requirements" of Cakewalk Sonar 6, which is a Pentium 4 2.8GHz or newer (like any Intel Core 2 system), when you're serious about composing music.

Me and some buddies record with sonar home studio 6 and i bought a new pc custom built for recording well our computers on tha same day and time started having problems with sonar popping and glitching...

Sounds like what is called a latency problem. You need to go into the settings in Sonar and under audio, adjust the Latency to a higher number...I don't know sonar home studio, or I would tell you the exact area to go in the menu's to adjust latency..Hope this helps!

Cakewalk Sonar - Edirol UA-1000 crackles on playback!

That's a latency issue it sounds like.
There's a slider under "Audio" .

Move it in increments towards "slow", test it as you go.
Leave it at the highest setting possible that doesn't crackle.

I've heard this so bad that it sounds like a gun going off.
It scares the Hell out of you when it happens !
