DSC-T10 no longer takes pictures. It will take pictures and store the "image" but it's just black.  It's acting like the lens cover is on, but it's not.

Hi, I don't know if this applies to the dsc-d10, but this is a common fault on the DSC-T1 and is due to a faulty CCD. Try taking it to a sony shop, and ask if they will send it to sony for a free repair (mention to them it is a common fault, and that you expect a free repair). They will send it off for you, and in a few days you will get your workingcamera back.

When i take a picture, my picture comes out black the camera turns on fine, batteries are charged and everything. but the screen is black. it acts as if it was going to take a picture but the screen does...

Your camera may be manifesting shutter not opening problem. It needs to get to a camera service/repair shop.

However, it's good you physically check whether the lens isn't blocked or covered with anything

Our camera seems to be okay but when i'm attempting to get picture, i can't see any image in LCD, is it the lens?

First try pressing the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. If that doesn't help, try taking a picture with the screen black. Is the picture also black? If so, a stuck shutter is another common failure mode for digital cameras. The symptoms of a stuck or "sticky" shutter are very similar to CCD image sensor failure. The camera may take black pictures (for shutter stuck closed), or the pictures may be very bright and overexposed, sometimes with lines, especially when taken outdoors (for shutter stuck open). To confirm a stuck shutter, put the camera in any mode other than "Auto", and turn the flash OFF (you don't want to blind yourself for the next step). Next look down the lens and take a picture. You should see a tiny flicker in the center of the lens as the shutter opens and closes. If no movement is seen, then you likely have a stuck shutter. If so, please see this link for further info and a simple fix that may help.

I replaced the battery hoping that would fix my camera, and the camera will turn on, but now the lens is blacked out with no image so i cannot take pictures. Is it a bad lens or is there something i can do...

Does camera show stored picture in memory stick in playback mode?
If it shows and does not give live view in camera mode to take fresh pictures then it is ccd imager chip failure problem.
Sony offers free of cost ccd imager replacement for DSC-T1 camera, click Sony CCD Imager Support for details or take camera to nearest Sony service center for free fix.
Thanks.

Help! model DSC-W80

The problem with your camera is part of the lens but it not the shutter. It is the CCD it is on the back of the lens if you are inside turn off the flash and in a office light setting try taking a picture to see if you get any type of image. if you do than that confirms it is the ccd. the CCD is what convert the light to data to send the image to memory. if it is too bright and it is defective then you might eather get a white or black screen. Repairs for it can range 85.00 plus shipping and up. let me know if you need anything else hope this helps.
