Cable ready tv components

I have two television sets (Sanyo DS19380) and an Orion) that have the same problem. The components inside the tv that the coaxial cable connects to need to be replaced. What are these components? In one set the coaxial connects to a component which connects to another one and the tv picks up the signal. In the other set the coaxial connects to a componet which is made up of two components which allows the tv to pick up the incoming signal. I am not sure if you understand my explanation but I need to replace the components the coaxial connects to.

This part is called a coaxal RF connector.

RF connector ( radio frequency) This works in the same manner a tv spliter does.

This part can easly be fixed. It only consists of two parts, a condensor and a resistor. You will find them in an enclosed tin box, to keep out any interfearance. Just pry open the box and visualize for any damage caused by screwing on and off your cable line, or by being pulled by your cable line and thus bending the connector.

Are my Orion tv's purchased in 2002 digital ready

Your TV does not have a digital tuner. You'll need a converter box for digital broadcast reception. Remember that if you're on a cable system or using a satellite receiver, your TV doesn't need to have digital tuning. It's only if you want to watch off-the-air broadcasts that you'll need the converter.

Is this TV digital ready, or do we need a converter box?

No, it is not a digital ready television. You will need a box if you are planning on using an antenna with it.

If you have it hooked up to cable or a satilite reciever then you don't need a box. It will continue to work like it is now.

Sanyo DS 31520

make sure your got the right cable mode selected through the remote or autual switch on back of tv. if not it youll only see cable channels up to channel 13 that means in is standard tv mode or air. once you selected cable ...run autoprogram and it find all the channels for you. these newer sets, dont bother with looking for a cable switch, its all done automaticly when you hit that autoprogram button but it would be in the menu under setup.
