I think it ran out of ink, do I need to add ink to

I have a Brother P-Touch (PT-300). When I hit "print" the tape comes out but there is nothing on the label. On previous prints, the ink was beginning to fade. Do I need to add ink someplace in this machine or what?

You need to buy a replacement tape for your machine. take the machine to an office max, or a staples and ask the clerk to show you which tapes will fit your machine. you will have a choice of tape width and maybe a few other choices.

I believe that this is a therm printer. Which means that the paper does the work it is heat sensitive and the keys warm to print. I'm not entirly sure about this but a quick way to tell is if the paper/tape is glossy on one side and flat finish on the other.You can obtain the owners manual by going to the Brother site and looking under support for downloads. It should be there after you've entered your model #. Thanks,Dana

Brother P-Touch label maker won't print. The tape is feeding out but no letters.

Question edited for clarity and add maker.
There are many models under the P-Touch brand, so generic answers only but in 90% of cases it is an incorrectly seated cartridge..

Brother P-touch PT-310 will not print. All functions work perfectly except tape comes out blank. Batteries had died, put in new ones, tried 3 different tapes and sizes, still blank tapes.

1) First, make sure to update the printer drivers to the latest version. Refer to the printer's manual to customize the print settings accordingly.

2) Check if the printer encountered Paper Jam error. If so, remove the jammed papers from the printer.

3) If the error persists, try replacing the ink cartridges. Purchase a new set of toner cartridges that are compatible with your printer, from a trusted retailer.

4) Remove the old cartridges from the printer and insert the new ones. Print a test page and in case, the problem continues, take the printer to an authorized service center.

Tape on Brother PT-65 wraps on roller

If the end is already messed up you may need a new cartridge, if you can remove the tape and feed the end under the guide on the cartridge and re-install it should work properly again.

Won't print. Tape comes out blank

Empty cartridge or ink dried up in nozzle. Try using damp paper towel (preferably with warm water) to clean nozzle.

 ARE YOU USING BROTHER INK??? I MEAN BROTHER OEM INK.? WHAT YOU CAN TRY IS TAKE A PAPER CLIP AND INSERT IT ABOUT 1/4 OF INCH INTO THE AIR HOLE ON THE CARTRIDGE, SOUNDS LIKE WHEN THE SEAL WAS TAKEN OFF, THE ADHESIVE FROM THE SEAL STAYED ON THE CARTRIDGE BLOCKING THE HOLDE. GOOD LUCK SR BROTHER TECH

You need to take a q-tip dipped in alcohol and clean the printhead. Let me know if this helps.
