I just got a rca tv mdl# f36668 36" it didnt come with the remote.my ? is how do i watch a dvd in it

The Logitech Harmony Remotes are the best thing I have run across for universal ease. I have set up 5 for different clients and the start at about $50. I think you might be happy to switch to one.

If your tv has input [rca connections] jacks, look at the original remote and use the input button.In some cases....pressing 00 on the remote will access an input. If you must a converter box...set your tv and the DVD player to channel 3.

If you connect your Dvd player up via a scart lead directly to the back of your Tv when you turn on the DVD player this will send a voltage to the tv telling it to change to the input that your Dvd player is on.

With cable input connected to "RF in"on rear of unit make sure vidoe input is set to "Tuner". This will show up on the TV screen. Change channels numerically or using up/down arrow keys on DVR remote. Note there is a slight pause between changing channels.You probably will have to "autoscan" for channel setup/etc. If you say your TV set is old; it probabaly is equiped with coax
connection only/set TV channel to "3" or "4". when yot opt to play vcr/dvd it will override your
cable channel selected. Hope this helps!

I found on my toshiba tv remote that the code for the rca was 039
some of the buttons were mixed up but its better than nothing.
Also remote has to be set to Aux. 2

You need the original remote controller to be able to switch input modes.Universal ones don't work. If you don't have the original remote and can't find it ever then the only way to reach your tv is through coaxial antenna port. So you can buy an rf modulator ( very cheap) and connect your red yellow and white cables (rca cables from a dvd, game console etc) to the modulator then connect the modulator to your antenna with a coax cable. This worked for me. It placed the connection to channel 4 and other channels are still working,
