I have an Optoma projector for a rear view screen which is in my office window. In order to line up the projector with the screen and not have it in the way of staff or customers we have had to mount it around 15' or so from the screen and just cannot get the size to reduce to the size of the screen which is 50".... Can anyone tell me how to do this? ..... or not, as the case maybe. I wondered if the distance was the problem?

Hi,
It sounds like you have a projector which is in need of professional repair. You should eliminate source material problems first though by checking the projector with alternative input sources, ensuring that you also check the cables, and various inputs on the projector.
If the lines are present on all the inputs then the fault is internal to the projector. This will require professional repair. The first point of contact should be Optoma at www.optoma.co.uk/support.aspx (UK) or http://www.optomausa.com/ (USA). They should be able to give you an idea of ow much it may potentially cost to have your projector repaired and (most importantly) check whether it is under warranty. Most Optoma projectors ship with 3 year warranties these days.
You have three option to view projection screen on your PC SCREEN:
1. Use "Y" cable to connect the projector and pc screen at a time.
2. Use "Video Splitter" to connect projector and pc screen at a time.
3. you can use a VGA cable to connect your pc screen with your projector VGA OUTPUT. here I show you the pictures.
hi, if u are using the composite video the try component video. composite video will dive u a dull image than component one. also check the distance between the projector an screen.Make sure the projection screen is between the required distance 4.9 to 40.7 feet (1.5 to 12.5 meters) from the projector. ok
turning off the main can be very harmful to rear projectors if you dont wait for the cooling off period, for instance when you turn off the tv from the remote, the fans inside are still on in order to dissipate the heat given out by the lamp. as a result some of the lens inside the engine may have burns-in caused by excess of heat.thus leading to shadows on the screen.
IF THERE IS WHITE VERTICAL LINES IN YOUR PROJECTION THEN REMOVE THE MOTHER BOARD AND REFIT THE BOARD OR U CAN JUST PRESS IT FROM UPPERSIDE THE PROBLEM WILL SOLVE OUT
