with the unit in standby, press the menu key, use the joystick control to choose aux, and set the aux option to "on"...then press menu again to save...when you next switch on the unit, using the SRC button you can cycle through the available options...cd - tuner - aux..etc etc

SOURCE: aux location

There is a RCA cable that comes off the back of the radio and also another cable for 3.5mm (mini-stereo jack) that also comes off the back of the radio. The RCA jacks can be used for "AUX" or "Sub-woofer" and the 3.5mm jack is just for "AUX". Your ipod can use the audio output jack or the headphone jack and plug that into the 3.5 mm jack on the back of the radio. You will need a "3.5mm male" to "3.5mm male" stereo cord that can be purchased at Radio Shack or Best Buy. Then you select "AUX" on the display with the source button to listen to it. You may need to go into the menu and activate the "AUX" input. Check your owners manual for details.

I have the kenwood kdc-mpv622 and trying to switch to AUX. I have the AV to AUX cord set up and plugged into my phone. I press the SRC button but only "Tuner" and "All Off" are options. Help?

According to the manual, the aux input for the mpv622 is an optional accessory. If it's installed, you select the aux input by pressing the [SRC] button. Select the AUX/AUX1 display. Then press the [DISP] button for two seconds. The selected input blinks. Press the ? or ? to change the input setting.

Does the Kenwood KDC MP5032 have an aux input? If so, where is it?

Hi there,

Kenwood utilize the CD Changer plug in the back (which acts as a secondary Aux input), to operate external iPod devices.

This is done with the aid of an Adapter Lead - it has the 13-pin DIN plug on one end (plugs into the rear of your unit), and an iPod plug on the other end (plugs into your iPod).

Depending on the "Generation" of your external iPod device, you will need to buy the appropriate Kenwood adapter cable. These are: KCA-IP102, KCA-IP202 or KCA-IP302.

There may be some aftermarket (3rd party) cables that may do the same job.

Just ensure you read your Kenwood manual, as the Kenwood unit may be limited to the types of files (i.e. formats) it can read & play.

Hope this explains....

Cheers,

I dont understand how to play mp3 player on my kenwood cd player.I have the cord to hook it up to my kenwood radio but i dont know how to get the mp3 to play.

Just plug the cord into the front of the cd player where it says "AUX" and then plug the other end of the cord into the headphone / line out jack on any ipod or mp3 player then select "AUX" instead of CD and the sound will come through the system

I can't play my iphone on my kenwood KDC-MP435U

Jennifer, I have the same issue. the problem is that the 2007+ generations of Kenwood receivers are not compatible with the iPhone. You will need to get a 2009+ series in order to use your iPhone with the head unit. I had the same issue with the Kenwood KDC-MP435U in my mustang. I am going to get a newer head unit that supports the iPhone. You cannot do it with the MP435U.

Need to use Aux function with Satellite Tuner installed.

Yes, you will need to consult your owners manual (if you don't have one try Kenwoods website). AUX functions are turned ON during initial setup (like when you set the time).
