I have an Alba TV 32 inch screen. The sound comes on for a few minutes when it is switched on but soon the sound cuts off. I have to switch off for a few minutes before I get sound again.

the cpu of your tv is not working,coldsolder the mainboard of your tv and the cpu then get the voltage output of your tv.

You may have lost the main controller board, but you should at least check the main power supply first for any signs of bad components such as capacitors. Also check the DC voltage reading on the connectro if they are labeled with voltage indicators.

cannot be presise but at worse the lcd back light is failing or the supply to it . this is a job for a service engineer

Yes, I had the same problem and it was the invertor board that controls the lamps .I bet ya that's your problem.Hard to locate parts for these lcd's.If you find a supplier please post.Have fun locating parts. It took me 2 weeks to locate one.

The most probable reason for this problem is the electrolytic capacitors in the sound section. A few of them need to be replaced. Please do not forget to check the speakers also.

I have an alba 32inch tv and the sound keeps turning off we have to then switch tell off for a minute to get sound back but the sound is gone again in 5 min only 2 years old

sound like there is a over heat / or failure of some circuits

32 inch are quite cheap now, so it maybe something you should re-place,

or flog to a 2nd hand shop if it last long enough to sell during test

L32W961 screen goes black then comes back on. later when video comes back sound does not

That is definitely a manufacturers error.
If it has been less than a year since you purchased it i would contact them.
They will send you to a service center. If it cant be fixed they will replace your tv.
It is all covered by them.
If it is past a year its honestly not worth fixing it,
You can find name brand 32 inch tv's for less than 250
while fixing it would cost around 150.
