I'm trying g to connect my Dell AIO 922 printer to

I'm trying to connect my Dell AIO 922 printer to my computer. Is connected by a USB cable. Message I keep getting printer not communicating with computer.

You need to go to Control Panel add/remove programs and remove all Printer programs. Then disconnect the USB cable, install the printer software until a message comes up that says plug in your printer. If no message comes up, complete the software installation and then plug in the USB cable. The computer should find the printer at this time.

Dell AIO 922 printer cannot communicate with computer after Norton Internet Security installed


Norton changed your firewall settings to block that port. Open norton and look for Settings then manage firewall, then program rules...look for your printer someplace on that list and use the dropdown list to change it...if that doesn't work let me know...

Sounds like a driver/cable issue.
Uninstall all drivers/software for this device (be sure to unplug the printer first)
Download the latest drivers/software from the Dell Website
Attach the printer to a different USB port than the one you had previously
Re-install the drivers/software

If this fails - Check your USB cable. 90% of the time it's a faulty cable or USB port.

Some printers also have a "resume" or "connect" button on them, if this is the case, it may be as simple as pushing that button.

********If u have installed the drivers from the old printer cd (used for windows xp ) ..on to ur vista os ,,,then we have some real problem and could take time but can be fixed *****
If u have not installed any of printer drivers …then u should be able to print (cannot scan ) , jus as connect the usb cable to the pc and ur firewall or comp settings may be blocking the communication . *********replay to me and I will help further********

Dell 922 AIO NT 4.0 driver is blocked


Download the printer driver from dell web site and try to reinstall. Before reinstall the printer driver you need to uninstall the previous printer driver from control panel->program feature->dell printer

Dell AIO 922 printer not seeing the color cardridge


Hi there,
" Unplug the printer cable from the computer.
" Unistall the printer drivers from Device manager and also unistall the all the printer appications
" restart the computer
" Click here and slecet the operating system and download the drive
"
" after installing drivers and software it will ask you to connect the printer.
" then you can connect the printer and and try to Print the test page.

Color printer won't print color


Normal 0 Could have a corrupt driver.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and when the CD software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

My dell photo aio 922 says there a communication problem and i try to print i do everything it tells me to do for exaple recconect the usb restart computer and try and take the printer plug out but still i am haveing the same problem

Aio 922 power light constantly blinks on and off, will not turn on/off or communicate with computer.


Try to unplug the power cable as well as the USB cable of your printer for few minutes. Then plug it back in, check the lights again.

Updated to Windows Vista and now the Dell 922 AIO scanner won't work


For windows Vista; it is imperative to run the Vista patch which can be found on the Dell website (Downloads and drivers).
Make sure that you run the patch, after removing the printer USB cable from the computer. Restart the computer as the patch suggests and then install the Vista specific drivers, which also need to be downloaded from Dell Website.
Again, do not connect the printer unless the installation software asks you to.
For scanner issues, those who are unable to get anything scanned to their computer, and are able to print, it is essentialy a Firewall/Anti-virus issue. You can check that out by trying to scan using an application such as MSPaint (Start> type 'mspaint' > hit enter).

it's unusual to have same problem if completely uninstalled printer(removing printer, then uninstalling,after which use printer installation cd then re connect printer when prompted). If you have a spare usb port install software then connect printer to a different usb port. Lastly try; go to printers and faxes folder>right click on printer icon>properties>advanced, then click the radio button 'Print Directly to the Printer' and see if it prints. Also make sure this printer is set to default printer Try an updated driver, if any,from the Lexmark web site, as they are the same printer without the Dell logo. Your rating is appreciated.
