Purchased a GE Profile bottom freezer April 08. Has indoor water dispenser. Changed the water filter 60 days ago. Since then the amount of cold water dispensed has slowly decreased to a trickle. There seems to be enough water to make ice cubes. Can this be fixed without spending another $35 for a new water filter just to see if that might fix the problem? Thanks, Mike

When you press the water dispenser button, do you hear a noise like water is trying to come as usual. If so then your problem might be frozen chill water tank or failed chill water valve. If you don't hear the regular noise then the problem might be with the dispenser unit.

change the tempt of freezer if too cold it will freeze line . try seting it for 5 to 20 deg some run below 0 and will freeze the water .. mm

OK, Have a look (if you can) and see if one of the water jets might be broken, or if there might be a defect in the tray. I can't help any further i'm afraid.

Sounds like your water valve may need changing, and has filled up with sediment, slowing the water flow.

Remove the bottom kick plate . Follow the plastic line about 6" and you'll find a connector . Push in on one end of the connector and at the same time , pull the line out . Close the door and press for water . If no water comes out of the disconnented line , the water valve is probably bad . If water does come out , the line inside the freezer door is frozen . If this turns out to be so , you can lower the freezer temp for maybe days , or , put the food on the door, inside the freezer , tape the light switch down ( to keep the lite off and fan running ) and tape plastic over the freezer door opening so the freezer will continue to work . Reinstall the line back into the connector by pushing the hose firmly into place . Leave the freezer door open for maybe 1 or 2 days for thawing out , going by ocassionally and pressing the water dispensor . Important : lower the freezer temperature slightly to keep line from freezing again . ONLY CHANGE THE FILTER WHEN WATER FLOW SLOWS OR ICE CUBES GET SMALL . The change filter lite comes on by the amount of times water dispensor is used and to make money for the vendor .

The temp should be around 5 degrees.

door gasket its not sealing properly

You are correct. this is actually a faulty inlet valve(dual) assembly. replacing this faulty valve will fix this issue.

One of two things. Water solonoid in back defective or water line insideof freezer door is froozen. I just posted a write up about this. Check other response. UJ63
