I bought a tomtom off ebay and NO card.. i hear you cant use one without. i bought a 4gig sd card .. can someone tell me where to get original info and maps.. utorrent or wherever. i got jipped on ebay and not getting money back, so could you please help... i dont see paying 90 bucks for the software after i just paid for this piece. any additional info would be greatly appreciated.. can i use sd card?
U don't need a SD card for the unit to operate, it is an optional item..

the maps have to be downloaded at the TOMTOM web site, they are not on the SD card, they are stored on the units internal memory, it is blank then? no maps?
no matter the source of the maps you still have to pay to download them at the factory web site. send it back, u got taken i think, hope you payed with paypal, file a complaint.
IF U AN GET THE MAPS FREE, EVEN A OUTDATED VERSION THAT WOULD WORK GREAT UNLESS U ARE IN AN AREA WHERE THEY ARE ADDING LOTS OF NEW STREETS, WHERE I LIVE THE TOWN IS OLD SO NOT MUCH CHANGES, WON'T SPEND THE $100+ THEY WANT FOR MAPS, THE UNIT ONLY COST $150 NEW (GARMIN 200W)

when plugged up it is showing an sd card being put into it and wont do anything else.. bought sd card and when i put it in .. i cant go anywhere or pull maps acting like NO software on it.. this is an older model i was reading HAD to have an sd card.. please help.. yes it is blank , no maps

thanks emission, that's what i figured, and it looks like the maps are WAY expensive, i went on tomtom home and it says tom tom wasnt reading my gps.. this has been a big mess.. you really are a friendly, intuitive guy.. i appreciate your help.. can i get the maps from torrent site or anything like that . ive never used them (fear of virus) but heck ive got so much tied up in this gps its crazy

so.. any info where i can download even an outdated map for free?? i bought a 30.00 sd card, 10.00 window mount 8 dollar adapter, gps for 48 plus 12 to ship.. i shoulda bought new.. please help
