Dehumidifer fan and compressor both cycle on and off together every 60 seconds or so when humidistat is set to 5. When set to MAX (10) the fan runs continuously and the compressor cycles on and off continuously - at 10 the unit is ALWAYS pulling moisture. In other words, if you want to keep it at 40%, you must either put up with the rapid cycling OR leave it on constantly and watch the humidity go down to 35% and then manually shut it off. Made in China, fairly noisy, but seems durable enough. Can I fix the ON/OFF cycling problem? It has Always done that, maybe it's a built-in design problem...?
You may also want to check the coils and make sure they do not have dirt or dust on them. If they are clean you may have an issue with the refrigerant level which will cause the coils not to cool properly. For that you will want to contact LG. There could be an issue with the compressor also. LG backs alot of their models with a 5 year warranty. Contact them and let them know about your issue. Make sure you still have your reciept. Here is their contact number:

Sounds like it needs to be recharged.

I dropped the water bucket by accident on the dehumidifier, and I have the same problem. Here what I found :
First, remove the water bucket and find the circuit diagram, it is very useful.
E1 code is related to the room humidity sensor, E2 code is related to the room temperature sensor and E3 code is related to the safety thermistor sensor. If you have one of these error code displayed, you will probably have to replace the sensor.
The humidity and temp sensors are located on the same board. To access it, remove the water bucket and you will see the 2 screws holding the front panel. Remove the screws, then gently prayed the front panel. Be careful, there is two plastic clip on the top of the panel and they are really easy to break. The board is located at the top right, under the cover. The safety thermistor is located on a pipe on the right side of the dehumidifier.

fan should turn off when compressor not running, the relay switch is stuck open for the fan, and probably needs replacing, but even if it always runs there is no harm and it only uses like 15 watts

I have the delonghi DEN500P and the unit runs but does not condense any moisture? The appropriate buttons have been set to bring the unit humidity setting well below humidity in room
