Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. If the clean light flashes 7 times, pauses, then repeats--

When the dishwasher doesn't sense a water temperature increase, it stops working and locks the functions (clean light flashes 7 times, all buttons are non responsive). It does this as a safety in case the element is broken and feeding electrical current into the water.

To resolve this you will have to reset the console. Do this by closing the door and press these buttons in sequence--

-high temp wash
-heated dry
-high temp wash
-heated dry

All the lights will turn on briefly and the machine will start a diagnostic cycle. You can press cancel or let the diagnostic cyle finish (1-2 minutes). You should now be able to run the dishwasher as normal.

If the issue returns, you could have a problem with the heating circuit (ie. element, thermostat or wiring). It rarely happens but it could also be the door switch not engaging properly when the door is closed (slightly bend the door latch down making sure it doesn't hit the door when you close it).

Please do rate the solution and revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Kitchen aid 8573025 B and the light panel blinks but will not operate

if the light is flashing 7 times there's a heat problem and the dishwasher won't start,if you remove the bottom kick panel you'll see the tech sheet,it will tell you about the flashing error codes, count how many times it flashes and look up the code,if it is 7 times you either have a bad heater or computer board,if you look at diagram it will show you how to read out the heater from board to see if the heater is bad or it's the board.

The electronic control looks for a temp. rise of 2-4 degrees. If no temp.rise control assumes a heater fault and blinks clean light 7 times. Bad heater. Water fill when completed can be no less than 1/2 inch below heater. If so, water valve probably. Circulation motor not working properly. Neutral door switch. Tech sheet is behind bottom cover. Check underneath of unit for leaking or white hard water deposits. Common for seals to leak. If unit is unusually noisy, motor problem. Common after 4-5 years. Will check back to see if you other questions. Good luck.

Diswasher malfunction - won't start clean light flashes 7 times The clean light keeps flashing green. Can't get the washer to start. The only operation it will do, is drain when the cancel / Drain button...

This information may help in your situation. This can be a common problem on some Whirlpool manufactured dishwashers. The following link explains how you may be able to clear the blinking clean light problem:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r417123-blinking_clean_light_kenmore_whirlpool

Now, keep in mind all dish washers are not alike and have different panel options. If you do not have the same set up that I have mentioned, the tech sheet for your dishwasher will explain the touch pad functions. The tech sheet is located behind the lower toe panel under the door and lists the proper sequence of buttons to push for diagnostics and troubleshooting.

NOTE: Sometimes the tech sheet is located behind the inner door panel. You will need to remove the screws securing the inner panel to access it if this is the case. Make sure you turn off the main power breaker before doing so.

Sometimes this can be a momentary glitch in operation. However, if the problem keeps reoccuring the number of flashes is an indication of which circuit is causing your problem. Again, refer to your tech sheet to determine this.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I hope this helps you solve your problem.
