If you notice a sudden slowdown or have a lot of unexplained popups you probably have a virus or worm of some variety. if you right click on the task bar and select task manager it will bring up a list of every thing you computer is doing. if you have more that 50 or so running processes on a typical home computer you probably have a virus. the best program i have found for removing worms, Trojans etc. is spybot, available for free here: http://download.cnet.com/Spybot-Search-amp-Destroy/3000-8022_4-10122137.html?tag=mncol
