Hello! I have bios problem. I need to run new bios to my acer aspire 7302WSMi. Where is that flash exe which will help to run that new bios to my pc? I have that new bios in my memory stick but I need that something flash exe also. My computer doesn`t work at all. It says just noisy voice: 1 long and two short beepings. Where I can get that which run that new bios to my computer (isn`t that something flash exe?)? You can email answer to [email protected]. -Mike

or better go to Unbuntu , it works better.
load the Unbuntu 17 disk or usb stick
boot it and click try me, (dem0)
test it like that, see if you like it.
see if it finds all chips in the PC first.
see if all things work the install it.
that is the way to run any LINUX

Summary:
You need a flash drive formatted as fat (Right click on drive. Click format. Select fat for file system. Press start)
Down load the bios 3310 from here: http://macles.blogspot.com/p/acer-aspire-one-bios.html
Extract all files. Put both FLASHIT.EXE and the BIOS file with FD suffix in the root directory of the flash drive. The files must not be in a folder. Rename the BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD before proceeding. It only works with this exact filename.

Make sure laptop is off and has battery and power plugged in.

Plug in flash drive to netbook. Press Fn and Esc simultaneously, keep them pressed and press the power button. Release Fn+Esc after a few seconds. The power button starts blinking at this point. Press it once. The netbook will now access the files on the flash drive and initiate flashing the BIOS. After a while the power button stops blinking, and the netbook reboots by itself. Wait patiently.

If it doesn't reboot, but keeps blinking, wait at least a few minutes before turning it off, and try again.

Try updating the BIOS.

1) Format USB memory stick with FAT file system.

2) Download BIOS for A150

3) Extract all files the downloaded file and place FLASHIT.EXE and BIOS file onto the memory stick

4) Rename BIOS file to ZG5IA32.FD

5) Turn netbook of, with power AND battery connected

6) Plug in memory stick with BIOS file and Flasit.exe

7) Press and hold Fn+Esc the unit will go on, hold until power LED is flashing then release keys. If it does not flash, then release and press power button once.

8) You'll notice the LED of both the usb memory stick and the power LED will flash together.

9) After a few seconds the flashing will stop and the unit will reboot or switch off completely.

This is from a factory repair and maintenance manual for Acer Aspire Laptops. It may work for you.

Forgotten Hard Disk Password
When the user keys in the wrong password three times, an error message appears. The user must now reset
the password.
1. Make a note of the error code that is displayed with the error message.
2. Run unlock6.exe from the DOS prompt in the following format:
unlock6 XXXXX 00
(XXXXX = HDD password error code, 00 = CRC base - default is 00)
3. Select Upper case ACSII Code from the screen that appears. The HDD master password is displayed.
Make a note of this password.
4. Reset your system. When the Enter Primary Master HDD User Password prompt appears, enter the
password you made a note of in step 3.
Resetting a BIOS Password
The user can reset a BIOS password using the clnpwd.exe utiility.
1. Copy clnpwd.exe to a DOS boot up disk (or flash drive).
2. Boot your system in DOS mode.
3. Execute clnpwd.exe from the boot up disk (or flash drive).
4. Press 1 or 2 to reset the required password as shown on screen.
5. A confirmation message appears when the process is successful.

Hi,
1. Go and download the bios file - ftp://ftp.work.acer-euro.com/notebook/asp.../bios/v1.06.zip
2. There should be a file call AG1A-106.EXE inside Alviso folder, just extract this file to the location you like.
3. In windows, use cmd (Command Prompt) to run this application.
4. The syntax should be ---- AG1A-106.EXE /ldcmos /reb -----
5. It may take 1 minute to load up, when it appears, just flash it.
6. Computer will restart after flashing and password should be cleared.
7. Don't forget to set back the BIOS settings if required.

Thats a bootable cd image that i made containing the latest bios for your board (R01-B4) and a flash utility. This bios has been modified to include overclocking options and extra features which are not in the standard bios!

Burn this image to a cd and boot into the DOS Prompt. At the prompt type the following

awdflash.exe 61AO427.bin /py /sn /cc /r

wait for it to finish reflashing the bios , then eject the disc and restart.
