TOMTOM one XL has deleted favourite locations

I have updated my TOMTOM one XL via Tom tom home but now when i turn it on, the 'favourites' button is grey, so i can't use it. i have gone back onto the site and downloaded two more updates, just to see if connecting it would get it back to normal, but it hasn't. what can I do?

I have found that the favourites disappear if you plug in an SD card or unplug the one you were using.
I would love to know how to copy from the TomTom One XL to an SD card.

I think that just means there are no favourite destinations.
Just add a destination and save it as favourite. The button should be enabled again.

I just purchased a Tom Tom XL 335 SE, but when you turn the volume up above 85% there is no sound. I exchanged the gps for a new one and the new one does the same thing. Any ideas for how I can get it to...

This was is a known bug to TomTom. The suggested solution is to update to the newest software version. The Download Page Here is where you can get the newest version.
(1) Ensure that you have the latest version of TomTom HOME installed
(2) Backup your navigation device by clicking Backup and restore in HOME
(3) Make sure you have enough space on your memory card or internal memory.
(4) Transfer your favourites to your new map

Downloading and installing your map
(5) Select your navigation device:

Before you disconnect
(6) If you have a speed camera subscription, install your TomTom speed cameras.

Select your new map

(7) If you have more than one map installed on your device, select the new map. On your navigation device, tap Manage maps in the Preferences menu and then tap Switch map.

I programed the home address in my tom tom but it was wrong. how do i delete it

Quite simple:
Instead of using 'Navigate to' option, use the 'Change preferences' then select 'Change Home Location' and re-enter the correct address via 'Address' or 'Recent destination'.

Hope it helps!

My tom tom one xl won't turn on anymore but when I connect to the computer it turns on and shows a picture of a gps. still can't use it though. it is fully charged.

try hitting the reset button with a pin for about 15 seconds (this is located near the memory card slot) switch on to see if it boots up then install the latest updates from tomtom home, good luck

Your Favorites are located in the Map directory in the TomTom.
For example if your using the North American map (North_America).
In a file named MapSettings.cfg.
When you update the map and some times the application this file is overwritten.
I recommend copying the file to the root directory of the TomTom or your computer if changes are made. That way you have a easy back-up of your favorites file.

Unfortunately to recover your old file you may damage other file in the process.

I hope this helps.
