I uninstalled the bluetooth driver and attempted to install an update. It won't install because the computer no longer recognizes that the bluetooth card is installed.
Well if you uninstalled it it won't be found! an update relies on the basic software being on the drive and deletes and modifies the files as it installs. reinstall the software and the connect and run the update
You can do this by using DEVICE MANAGER ( after installation) and selecting update driver.. and pointing to the new driver you want to install
Click the Start button, click Control Panel, click System and Maintenance, and then click Device Manager.
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation
In the list, double-click the type of device, and then locate the specific device that isn't working properly.
If an exclamation mark appears next to the name of the device, Device Manager can't find the device driver. Go to "Use Windows Update to find a device driver."
If no exclamation mark appears next to the name of the device, go to "Uninstall and reinstall the device driver."
Close Device Manager.
hope this helps

Thank you for your comment Nettiser. Unfortunately, I'm unable to install an update or re-install the software due to the fact that during attempted installs, the software tries to find a bluetooth card. Since no card is found, the software installation fails and quits.
