In uploading to a website, so that pictures could be printed, a comment states low resolution and the pictures may be blurry when printed. Is there any setting on the camera that I can change that would...

I dont know what resolution your camera is, but make sure you have it set at the highest it can go. The higher the resolution the better quality the picture. I had a 12mp camera but you could set it as low as 4mp which is ok for snaps but if you are uploading or printing then you need to set your camera to a higher resolution if you can. Read your instruction book it should tell you how to configure your settings there. If it is an old camera that cant be changed then maybe its time to invest in a higher mp camera perhaps 8mp 10mp or even 12mp

Videos are now a small picture and when expanded are POOR quality

It seems that you have reduced the resolution of the vedio capturing format. In format settings change it to maximum avaialbe resolution such as 1024x900, etc ( maximum among available). Also for increasing the still photo resolution, select the maximum mega pixel such as 3.2/5/etc.. Usually the mega pixels can be changed using any short cut keys.

Canon Rebel EOS - Pictures download read Low Resolution

Canon Digital Rebel cameras let you set the image resolution from small jpegs (low resolution) to large jpegs (high resolution) to RAW (best quality, but require post-processing in your computer before you can print them). It's possible that as you were getting to know your camera you accidentally set the image size and quality to a low setting. Now you just need to change it back!

You make this change in the on-screen menu, under the camera menu (first menu, with a camera icon), first item (Quality). Although Canon no longer has the manual for this camera online, you can see This Review Page for more details on where to change this setting on your camera.

Changing the resolution on my camera before i go to photoshop

using the RAW setting will give a higher quality photo, the other formats compress to jpeg causing you to loose some of the original photo information. the ZoomBrowser EX program allows you to edit the RAW image, I recommend getting the large prints done at Kinkos or some place like that. I've gotten poster size prints done that look very clear. Use a tripod to combat camera shake, it is very apperent at that size of print. Also a low ISO to help reduce noise.

Help :)

Hey TiffanyJane,
There is no way to change the dpi on a digital camera. What you need to do is set the camera to its highest resolution which is 3264x2448 pixels, and this is referred to as large in your camera. Large resolution should provide prints of high quality up to 11.7x16.5 inches, and should also be able to print to 300dpi. Instructions on how to set your camera to this setting are on page 69 of your camera manual. If you no longer have your manual I have provided a link below to a PDF download of it. I hope this helps!

DSC T20 poor image problem

If you took the images at 8MP or 5MP settings, then normally you have a high resolution picture, was the picture clear at the cameras LCD monitor? As you said its like low res in your PC, please check the image file size 8MP resolution will be approx. 3Mb size, if its about that figure, then the problem is in the camera, if the file size is about 500K maybe its in the camera settings, PC cant affect resolution, unless you only have VGA card and monitor, hope this will help, thanks

Minolta Dimage S414 Problem with resulution

What you are seeing is the difference between "pixel count resolution" and "embedded resolution". So in your example 2272*1704 is the actual pixel count resolution as recorded by the camera & 72 is the embedded resolution that tells the software (in this case photoshop) what the intended use of the picture will be. 72 ppi is the default for web pictures. You can change this in photoshop by going to the "Image" tab & select image size. The window that opens will show you the pixel dimensions i.e. pixel count resolution and the document size & resolution 72. You just change it to 300 for printing. You can change the default to 300 by going "edit", "preferences", "units & rulers" and setting the values for "new document preset resolutions". This is a complex subject, I recommend looking at the following web page: http://www.fotofinish.com/resources/centers/photo/resolution.htm

Poor image quality

hotoPC 650 captures images in 24-bit color (16.7 million colors). Your pictures will not display maximum image quality if your monitor or computer's video controller doesn't support this color depth. Additionally, if your pictures are taken in 1154 x 864 mode, try increasing your video resolution above 640 x 480. You may need to upgrade your system to achieve the best possible image quality. If your pictures look better on the screen than when you print them out, you may need to upgrade your printer. An EPSON Stylus ink jet printer, for example, provides excellent image quality. If you used drag and drop to insert your pictures, they may appear grainy. Try importing them into your documents instead.
