The lights on the front are flashing. Then I pulled the tv out from the wall, cleaned it up (thought that might help). Now the picture comes on for about 2 minutes, then the screen gets all screwy with lots of colors. When I try to turn the set off, it won't. I have to unplug it. Can you help. The set is only about 4 years old. Jay Walden [email protected]
When I turned the set back on, the picture was fine for about 2 minutes, then it went bad again. Does this sound like the same thing you described above? Check your lamp it might have gone bad if not then on these sets the color wheel goes bad if you get junk on the screen like broken bits of info and you might get a weird sound like computer noise then it might be your color wheel it is a small round glass wheel i just checked to see if your model is in this list of samsung color wheel and yes it is

the green light blinking is normal if set has been unplugged--when set is plugged back it should blink for about 70 seconds and then go out--then you can try to turn it on---it is the DM unit inside the set booting up.
If the light just blinks and never stops you have likely bad caps in the DM unit---there are kits available for that.
The other possible reason is that so called reset switch may be bad--fairly easy way to find that out and it is more common than you would think, let me know if you have questions.
The gun could be broken. However, if you're trying to use it on a flat-screen TV (LCD, Plasma, or Rear-Projection), those TVs are not compatible with light guns. You must use an old-style CRT TV.
The TV will cause the STANDBY light to blink or flash when the TV detects an issue. The number of times the STANDBY light flashes corresponds to a specific issue.
If the TV is plugged into a power strip or a surge protector, please remove it from the power strip or the surge protector and plug it directly into the wall outlet. If the issue is resolved, the problem is with the power strip or surge protector and not the TV.
Also try connecting the TV to different AC wall outlet and check if that helps.
If the issue persists, the TV needs to be Serviced.
The set will need to be serviced to allow a technician to determine the specific issue that needs to be repaired.
Please contact the local Authorized Service Center to get the TV serviced.

Hi.
Thats a nice tv you have there.
If your able to get free estimate from repair shop go for it.
It could only be dry joints but it could be loptx & other components which could be pricey.

I'm not sure what you mean by broken bits of info??? The set does try to turn on and turns itself off and then on again.
