if you have a nintendo ds im sorry to say it cant connect to the internet unless you have a special attachment that lets you connect to the net by a wi-fi its called nintendo wi-fi USB adaptor this willhelp you connect to the net. By the way does your son have nintendo DS/DS lite or nintendo DSi cause their are different ways to connect it to the net DSi can connect to the net easily and it doesn't need an adaptor.
If you bought it new I would bring it back to the shop you purchased it in as it would be under guarantee and they should replace it or repair it for you at no cost to yourself.
If its second hand some of the phone repair shops also do computer and console repairs its worth checking out.
Try getting the latest version of the firmware for ur ds. After u download the firmware, put ur card into card reader. Use computer to delete everything except ur games. Then put the firmware that you downloaded into the card. See if it works.
The easiest solution is to buy a UK one and buy a UK-to-India plug adapter.
They use the same voltage as the UK (240 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second [50 Hertz]).
Using a US adapter in India could blow the adapter or DS.
