Maytag mah4000 washer

Washer will not start - that is there must be relay that engages to start washer and it is not working. If I hold the start button in continuously it runs ? Please advise - think main circuit board is bad - Do U know where I can get a schematic of this board ? Looks like Q3 on this board is burnt. Thanks, John

Board replacement is out of the question - If an amateur or repairman can't fix these boards - this appliance is junk. This board costs $150 or more. When a company designs an inferior product - the least they can do is supply the schematic so customers can repair there problem. Thanks

Ajshoe,

I'm not familiar with this particular model but I will tell you this:

The schematics for these circuit boards are generally not published. The reason is that the average repair guy will not want to fix them and probably lacks the expertise. Q means transistor. Transistors are 'relays' after a fashion. If you can see a number, you may be able to access a replacement. Otherwise, I would change the board. The fact that the washer will start sounds like the relay that the board controls is operating properly.

You may be able to find a board renewal/exchange online for less than a whole new one. Be sure to unplug the machine and ground yourself when handling the board.

Model MAH4000, will not spin out, door lock will

Check if the "locked"or "door locked" light comes on. If it does not, you need to replace the wax motor in the door lock assembly and the machine control board, which is inside the control panel. The control board is expensive, so instead of buying the whole control board, if you're good in electronic repair and soldering, try checking ebay for the control board repair kit. Search for "MAYTAG NEPTUNE WASHER R11 Q6 REPAIR KIT". It has all instructions how to do the repair. Good luck!

Mah4000 won't go into spin cycle. drain pump is working, but no high speed spin.

Hi, this is MCU damage. This is called the Motor Control Unit. it manages the spin cycle in your unit. it is damaged at this time. replace it asap.

Sometimes there is water that fills in my washer after I use it. It does not happen right away but by the next day. I don't know the model but I do know this is an old washer....gold....I have had it for...

Q - My washer seems to keep filling  with water, the water keeps coming in the washer and going out the drain without the washermotor running.
A - This often is a drain hose that is too low or a drain hose that has been pushed too far down inside the stand pipe....the water is actually siphoning out of the washer. Do not "seal" the drain hose to the house plumbing pipe, this will also allow the water to be siphoned out.

Maytag mah4000 washer

My machine (Maytag MAH4000aww) failed to drain because of a bobby-pin that was lodged in the drain pump impeller. Because of the added weight of the wet clothes, and the undrained water; the machine would not spin. The Wax motor worked as the door did lock properly, but the machine would "ramp up" trying to spin, but would stop the process when it sensed that the load was grossly unbalanced. Check the drain pump to see that it is not clogged or that the impeller is not impeded by a foreign object before spending money on imbalance switches! I will now cancel the service man, who surely would have charged me for a new pump, plus the cost of the visit, and now I can stop swearing! My wife is glad she married me!!!!
