Red Line on the left side of the screen

I own a 42 inch plasma samsung tv and Ive had it for about 8 months now, in the past months a red line when the sceen is in dark tones has appeared, it is about 5 centimeters thick and goes from top to bottom of the sceen. Will samsung say its a burn if the technician comes? it cant be a burn because it has gradually appeared and it is getting worst with time right?
thanks for your help

This is a serious problem, you have to call SS right away since it is in warrantee. They need to check whether the panel is defective.

I have a 42" Samsung Plasma. We have had it two years so the warranty just ran out. We have a half inch red line down the left side of the screen. Also, when the screen should be black, there are hints of...

ONE OF TWO THINGS, THE LINE COULD POSSIBLY BE FIXED WITH A SCAN BOARD, BUT NOT LIKELY, PROBABLY NEEDS A SCREEN REPLACED, THE OTHER RED STUFF CAN BE FIXED WITH A X-BOARD REPLACEMENT, BETTER OFF TO BUY A NEW TV

Samsung plasma HPR4272 that had a 4" black vertical line on

There are at least two issues here. First you have bad buffer boards. Second Very possibly a bad X-Main bd and P-Logic bds. Have a trained Samsung tech troubleshoot the set.

Thin red line in middle of screen on nec 42 inch plasma monitor

I had the same problem -red, vertical bars along the right side of my Samsung 42" Plasma- and this is what fixed it: Removed unterminated cable.
I had hooked up an HD video camera to the set about two weeks ago. While I disconnected the camera I left the other end of the connector cable plugged into the T.V.. As I've since learned from friends who work in television, this is what's called an "unterminated cable" -meaning one end is unconnected. It can lead to problems with electrical interference and appears to have been the problem in this case; When I disconnected this cable from the T.V. the red bars went away.
So, check your cables. Make sure everything is properly connected and get rid of anything that might be picking up interference.

Hitachi 42HDS69 42 in. Plasma with red lines

I think you have dry solder joints on the tv. Either on the chroma board, the vertical scan board, the line output board, or on the focus board. If you are going to do this yourself please take all necessary precautions against electric shock and discharge all capacitors that you can as a stray spark from one can cause damage to your tv and yourself. If you are not able to do this find a competant technician. Good luck.

Vertical Black line 3 inch width on Plasma Samsung 42C96HD after 2 months of use

I also have the same problem I phoned Samsung today to explain the tv was only 14 months old, they didn't wanna no because it was out of warrenty by 2 months. I am getting a black solid line down the left hand side of the screen. I ended up phoning Dixons were we bought it from, they have told me to get an independent engineers report done & send the report to them within 14 days. Dixon told me it was a known problem with Samsungs. They said they will fix it free of charge if they can if not they will send vouchers to the same value of the television. So beware stay clear of Samsungs.

Red line on screen

The vertical line, in my case, was due to a bad contact on the flexible printed circuit. I fixed the problem by using a piece of a rubber eraser to apply downward pressure on the flexible circuit as shown in the picture. To locate the faulty section lightly push on the flexible circuit from lef to right untill the line dissapears. 9f78570.jpg
