Use speakers that will handle 85 RMS continuous or higher wattage. I have 200 watt Rockford 6.5s on a 75 watt amp. They sound great with plenty of headroom if I go to a bigger amp.

Circuit diagrams of many popular brand TVs and other devices are given.
To bridge 1 sub with a Alpine MRV-100M amp you run the negative and positive wires coming from the speaker to the outside terminals on the AMP respectively.
its your fuse box. i would bypass the fuse box and wire this amp directly to the battery via monster cable. make sure you attach a 30wieght fuse to the monster cable that is running from the battery to your amp. ground the amp against the trunk. scrape the paint of a section and drill a hole in the trunk. use this for the ground for you amp. this will fix the no power issue.
Alpine is just a better brand in general. I have the older MRV-1507, sounds GREAT, i have had friends who has had the Explode line, but it was always a temporary system until they got something better, like the alpine or kenwood.
If you got smoke comming out its already has damage my friend.. Was this unit bench tested before you bought it or was it hooked up in another vehicle and you seen it work or did you buy it sight unheard??
