Question about Microwave Ovens

Microwave not working

We have an "over the range" Whirlpool Roper microwave. All of a sudden, the microwave stopped working, i.e., it does not heat up at all inside. All of the other features seem to be working....the timer, the interior lights, sound, etc. But, all food items are stone cold when you take them out of the oven. Do you have any idea what the problem may be?

Thanks for your advice!

everything else works fine but food is as cold as it was when you put it in.

not sure if my problem is the door hinge or any of those problems, my microwave is barely 1 year old....same as list above, timer, clock....runs....fan works...hood light, doesnt smell of any odor, no rough running sounds, just oneday quit heating food. i had heard that a lot of above the range mircowaves go bad due to the heat from the range, we have a new smooth top range that gets hot very fast ....we do a lot of cooking, any advise would be great, not into replacing microwave every year....lol

I have found that I have a bad door switch on my Samsung MS6745G microwave. It intermittantly will not turn on. I contacted Samsung's parts distributor J&J International and they have no record of making a MS6745G microwave and have no knowledge on part numbers.

Generally, the most common causes of a failure to heat are:

- bad door switches or door switch mounts
- loose connection at the magnetron
- problem or loose connection on the control unit circuit board
- bad magnetron or other high voltage part

Samsung over the range microwave oven model# SMK9175ST the microwave part stopped heating

If "everything" works and your microwave just stopped heating, the problem might be with the internal door switches, the high voltage circuitry, or the circuit board or quite probalby your magnetron is dead. If you don't have the technical knowledge to repair microwaves, you should take it to a repair service for diagnostics.

Whirlpool Microwave (model WMH1164XVS-1 ) does not turn on

This could be a lot of things. IT might be a capacitor or diode. MY money is on the capacitor. Since it works for a minute before it quits.

My Whirlpool/Roper microwave/hood combo has the same problem. I replaced the bulb twice, checked the bulb and it works, but not in the microwave. I wrote to Whirlpool asking about the problem. Haven't heard from them yet.

Whirlpool microwave, intermittent blower activity, shuts down microwave

Not clear what to explain but would look at the front control switches, commond problem, to see just play with the door open and closing to see what happen's with the fan, it's probroly not making proper contact, the other problem I can thing of is bad thermal heat sensor, there should be two or three of them, you need to know the basic what they do to test them just jump them, and try the unit and see if the problem stop to see witch termal is deffective.

Hope this help

There should be a very helpful "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel.
