Light Stays ON Inside - GE JE2160

We just bought a new in box GE Profile JE2160 Microwave today. When we plugged it up the light stays on all the time inside. Everything else works except for the light staying on.

It may be a stuck relay on or other problem on the control board.

Because of pure design (GE never confirm it) you need to fix lever lock. By closing door this lock not working in parallel. One sitch closes earlier than another.

You probably broke the door sensor switch.

The part must be tested before replacement.

Light stays on Model #JE2160 Light will not go off.

there are two latches on your microwave door 1 for cutting power off to the magnatron and 1 for the light, it sounds to me like the 1 for the licht has broke off look on your door and check for break mark in line with the other lug. if not then the switch is broke inside the actual oven.
