Re: frigidaire code F1
Rainbow, F1 could be one of three things. The loud pop doesn't sound good. 1. Shorted keypad-replace the control. 2. The control sensed a runaway oven temp. In this case you would have to ohm out the temp probe. 3. The control itself may have a shorted relay-replace the control. The temp probe should ohm at approx 1100 ohms at room temp. Unplug the oven for one minute, if the code returns, first ohm the temp sensor (probe) if that checks ok, replace the control..Catriver

The F1 error code means one of two thing;either the touchpad is bad or a relay on the conrtol has shorted out. Well the loud pop and the F1,their is not doubt that a relay on the control has indeed shorted out. The fix for that is to replace teh control PLEASE NOTE A SHORTED RELAY WILL MAKE THE HEAT ELEMENT TO STAY ON AT ALL TIMES AND THE BREAKER MUST BE LEFT TURNED OFF AT ALL TIMES UNTIL THE CONTROL HAS BEEN REPLACED OR IF LEFT ON THEIR WILL BE A VERY VERY GOOD CHANCE OF THE OVEN/HOUSE CATCHING FIRE
The F1 code indicates a control failure. Try pressing a key to see if it displays on the screen. If not, the keypad may have shorted and requires replacement. If the keypad is fine, there is perhaps a problem with the internal checksum; disconnect the power for 30 seconds and reconnect it. If the code remains, you must replace the electronic oven control (EOC). If the F1 code appears when the oven is running, it means that the oven senses an overheating condition. Use an external thermometer to check the temperature inside the oven. If it is accurate, it means that either the temperature sensor probe or the control relay has malfunctioned. Disconnect the power, and inspect the sensor probe, replacing it if necessary. If the oven is actually overheating, replace the EOC. If the oven is allowed to overheat, the resulting damage is possibly so extensive that the entire oven may require replacement.
I have a F1 code on my Frigidaire convection oven and a really cool beeping sound to go with it. I turned the breaker off and turned back on---doing the same thing...????????
Frigidaire oven fault code F1 means the electronic clock control is bad and should be replaced. That is the electronic control board that shows your clock display and is also called clock or eoc, depending on your model.
