The Sidekick 3 has a charging issue that crops up after awhile. The unit will fail to charge at all even though you may get the charging light. If you are under warranty, great! Send it in and get it fixed. If not, buy an extra battery and a Sidekick 3 charging cradle . This will cost about 40 dollars but it that is a lot better than the 100+ it will cost to fix it! When looking at a cradle, make sure it says it has a spare battery charger. Some of the Sidekick Charging cradles don't. If you decide to go this route, make sure to power down your sidekick 3 before changing batteries. This will prevent the data from being lost. If you remove the battery while the sidekick is on, it will do a hard reset and your data will download again from server, but it will take awhile. Check out the Links below to find batteries and charging cradles. Sidekick 3 Battery Sidekick 3 Charging Cradle

Sidekick 3 Charging Question

I can tell you the sidekick 3 will not operate properly with out a back cover. In fact, if you remove the rear cover while powered on, it will post a warning message on the screen.
Because you tested and successfully operated the phone with out complication with a back installed I fell confident you should have have any problem with the phone when your back cover arrives.

Good Luck

My sidekick 3 has sonething wrong with it.

So if the sidekick has suffered a drop or some other type of trauma, the cable for the lcd screen can come loose causing a white screen. Try the following guide to repair a white screen:

Fix a White LCD Screen on Sidekick 3

If it doesn't work, you can replace the Sidekick 3 screen assembly fairly easily. A new LCD assembly runs about 30 dollars from ebay. Here is a guide for that:

How to Replace a Sidekick 3 Screen

and here is a link to the screens on ebay:

Hope that helps

My sidekick wont turn on

corbolicous1-

Is it a sidekick ID? If you bought if from t-mobile and it hasn't got wet or been dropped then call T-mobile CC. IT should still be under warranty. Do you have a friend that has a sidekick 3 or a sidekick ID that you can try the battery from(they are the same) What type of charging cradle, one witht the spare battery charging slot? Let me know....

Help please!

hialeahnero

probably not. If your phone will not turn on at all with a charged battery then the charging cradle won't help. When you try to turn it on, you get no lights or anything?

Check to see if the prongs for the battery connection point are good. Try pushing down on the battery and powering up the phone. Try this with both batteries if you can.

Let me know how that goes and we will try to figure this out.

Sidekick wont turn on

If you can, try a friends battery, either from a sidekick ID or sidekick 3. The Sidekick ID seems to be having the same issue as the sidekick 3 whefre the charging port goes bad. The best worka round for that is to get a charginfg cradel that has a spare battery slot.
