I replaced the cartiage and it does not recognize the cartiage and keeps says no cartiage. is there a way to fix this?
It says there is no cartridge, or does it say that the cartridge is empty?
First, you must realize there are two cartridges. A drum and a toner.
If you bought a new toner, pulled out the drum and put the new toner
in, you have pulled a DOH! You can't just put the toner in. You have to
take your old drum cartridge, remove the toner portion and install the
new toner into your old drum and then install the entire assembly back
into the machine. I hope you didn't throw your drum out thinking it was
all one cartridge (I've seen it happen). This is where reading the
owner's manual helps.
If not, then one of the contacts must have been damaged. Remove the
cartridge and look inside the machine. See if you can find any of the
metal contacts on the side of the inner chamber that is bent or damaged
and try to bend it back.
Check the drum and make sure none of the contacts are damaged.
If the unit is still saying Toner Empty, try this. On the left side of
the toner there will be a while lever in a semi-circular notch.
Unplug the unit, use a small screwdriver or a key to push that white
lever back to the front of the notch. Put the drum and toner back into
the machine and plug the power back in.
