Re: Channels won't move
Go into your setup menu and choose channel program or auto scan. The TV should look for and program active channels into its memory at this time. When it is finsihed you should be able to surf normally. Otherwise you should be able to access the channels directly by entering the channel number on the rmote control.

Try pressing the MTS button on your remote while on the channel that does not have audio and select stereo. Most likely this will be set to SAP (secondary audio programming) and there is no SAP programming on that show. This is not something that could be avoided. It was during the channel scan, it locked in the SAP audio broadcasts for some reason.
you can go into the menu and see if there is a reset or something that will set the tv to factory defaults. This will erase all passwords for parental lock. If you can give teh exact model of tv that would be great it is usually on a sticker on the back side of tv. I hope this helps and if not if you can locate the model number i can help you more.
Bill, your set has a bad tuner, only fix for that is to R & R the tuner, 2nd option would be to use your vcrs tuner input and then RCA out cables from vct to input on back of tv, If you have never done this re-post and I`ll walk you through it, let me know, BMW Rider
