Random, intermittant blue lines
Here's something that might also be useful. After you turn on
the set, and get the regular red blinky lights, hold down the Device
and Menu buttons together for about 5 seconds.
The Power light will start to flash in a two digit sequence.
For example, 3 flashes, then 7 flashes = 37.
Here are the error codes, and the corresponding problem:
12 = No error detected, check power supply.
32 = Lamp Cover is open.
33 = Air filter cover is open.
34 = Lamp abnormality
36 = Light Engine (DMD or Lamp Fan stopped)
37 = Exhaust or Lamp Ballast Fan stopped
38 = Lamp Temperature High
39 = DMD Temperature High
41 = Short is detected
44 = DVI cable between FMT and Engine disconnected
I put in a bulb after the red light came on and nothing happened , tv turned on and i heard a noise in the the tv like something was spinning and it stopped , tv then shuts off after like 2 mins and the red light came on indicating bad lamp , i dont understand what is wrong , do i need to just trash the tv ? what else could be wrong with it ?

we have the same problem with our tv. and we were woundering what kind of lamp it takes? because we dont have a manual.
Same problem . Mitsubishi sent an entire chassis (lt side of set and all boards, I installed and same problem. Mitsubishi said this should take care of problem but they will no no more.

Replaced lamp in March 2007, now red light comes on and indicates bad lamp.A tech came out and said my DB board is bad.No more Mitsubishi.
