I bought it 2 weeks ago...i installed the easy start installation cd that came with it...i pluged in the mp3 through the USB port in the back of my PC..nothing happens...then a couple minutes later the "safely remove device" icon comes up at right hand corner of the start menu options...i click on it and nothing appears on that window. my last and final try was going to the control panel, i clicked on portable devices and it says there aren't none so please tell me what to do..i mean ive tried everything..my sansa m250 just doesnt come up on my PC...please help!!!!!!

I never even received software with the sandisk sansa m250. It works once and a while if I plug it into my computer I can load songs onto it. But most of the time I plug it in and I'm told there's new hardware and I need to install it. When I do I get a message that says it can't locate the MTP device. How am i supposed to use this?

got the same problem myself...i've searched the web for hours for a solution but couldn't find any.

needless to say the instalation CD that comes with it isn't really helping..it just offers to install MSN music and media player

    what to do?

Try this ... Press Menu button, Go to Settings, Go to USB, Highlight MSC and press the white button. Now, connect it back to your computer and see in Explorer if it picks it up as a separate drive labeled SANSA.

Also, make sure you are loading songs into a separate folder. I named my folder TUNES.

Make sure the hold button is switched off.

Click the link below and select the O/S for downloads. I think you only need thr installation CD if your O/S is Windows 98.

Sanza m250 mp3

Try going to the SanDisk website and download the drivers and run the install from their site. Then you don't need the small CD disc.

Confused

For the Sansa m250 you do not need a cd. Just download the manual, stick a triple A battery in, plug it into your computer and upload your music. Then read the manual to see the various functions for each button. Enjoy

I have Sanso m250 2.0gb mobel. Logo screen is appearing when i power on after that i am unable to play the mp3 songs or play FM Radio etc..

Try doing a hard reset on a Sansa m250:
  1. Turn off the Sansa. Just pull the battery out for a second.
  2. Plug the Sansa into a computer4.gif, and open "My Documents" in the computer.
  3. Open the Sansa file as if it were a drive, then go to the "MUSIC4.gif Specific storage" file.
  4. Right click the "MUSIC Specific storage" file, and press "Format."
This should hard reset the Sansa m250. I do not know if this will work on other Sansa m200 type .mp3 players. You can start over with your playlists. This has worked for me.

Mp3 Songs are not visible.

Go to the menu in you mp3 player. In the menu, under settings, make sure that "advanced" is set to off. Then it should show that the USB is MSC, not MTP, and you should be able to view your songs when you hook back up to the computer.
