Mac doesn't recognize my Nikon Coolpix

When I plug the usb cable from my Nikon Coolpix digital camera to my Mac nothing happens. I go to the Utilities folder and nothing. It doesn't even do a virus scan when the camera is turned on. What's wrong? Thank you.

Use a cardreader to download your pictures. Download them to a folder you create on your desktop. From there, you can do anything you want with them.

My computer no longer recognizes my nikon coolpix L5.

ALTERNATE WAY TO TRANSFER PHOTOS TO COMPUTER
If your photos are stored on the memory card, then remove the memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader. Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of your working computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device or an external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card and copy the photos to your computer. Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. You can copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off your memory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing any programs.

I HAVE A NIKON COOLPIX P90,HOW DO I TRANSFER PICTURES TO MY COMPUTER AND THEN EMAIL THEM?

Do you have the usb cable that came with the camera? If so plug that into your computer and your computer should them recognize it and give you instructions. After your files are saved to your computer add them as an attachment to your email and send.

Nikon coolpix s210 will not connect to mac

I have a Intel Mac Powerbook running OS10.5.8
On a coolpix 100, the default setting is that the camera is charged by the computer through the USB cable. You need switch that OFF.
While the camera still does not show as usb device, you can access it through the Nikon transfer program AND through iPhoto

Nikon CoolPix S200 SHUTS OFF when usb plugged in

Did you install the drivers to the computer? And install the nikon software to your computer? If you didn't that is probably your problem. Otherwise you can get a cardreader and use it to get your photos on you computer.

USB not recognized, no safe removal icon, wont switch off

I had the same problem. Nothing seemed to help, I even re-installed Nikon View. This helped, though. After you've connected the USB cable to both computer and camera, twist the camera end of the cable towards front of the camera. It seems like either the cable or the socket in the camera is damaged.
