There are three ways to turn on your Nuvi
1. Press the Power On Switch
2.Connect it to a USB port on a Computer via the USB cable 3.Plug it into the Accessory Outlet or Cigarette Lighter receptacle in your vehicle
There is a good possibility that the Power On Switch has been depressed so far that it might in fact cause the unit to short out when powered up via either option 2 or 3 in which case it could cause Major Damage to your computer as well as your Nuvi In Option #3 you may just blow a fuse in your vehicle but toast the Nuvi. The Safe Route and the one which I would highly recommend is Return it to Garmin for Repair.

Meridian color wil not power on - screen flashes white, then goes off. I think what I did was: got a low battery warning and changed the batteries without powering off first. Please help

Yes it is possible that sense you just changed batteries with out powering it off first through the computer off. Try to reboot it. Meaning make sure it is off of course, then as you power it on, keep the on button depressed through the whole turning on process, even 10 seconds past. Meaning, while it is turning on, you keep your power button depressed or switch on, through the whole process. If this does not work, take batteries out, wait about 15 minutes and try this again. What this does is manually reboot system. Let me know, Thanks Mike from fixya.

My Magellan Maestro 5310 is stuck on the Magellan start up screen. the little power bar on the the bottom of screen comes up then thats it. It won;t begin to load the next screen. I have tried to reset...

Hello There, I have a Magellan myself, besides me knowing some things or two about GPS'S

Give this a try, seems to work for me and others most the time.

Try this for me to see if this works: Let me know. It needs to be rebooted. Turn off, by holding off button down. Then once it is completely off, then turn it on, BUT when you go to turn it on, keep on button depressed, all the way until it turns on and then some for about 15 seconds, now you just rebooted system. Let me know, if does work, please click on the thumbs up to showed your a happy customer. Thanks Mike

When i turn on the GPS it is just stuck on the garmin screen and does nothing else.

Here is just a suggestion , try this and let me know if worked. It needs to be rebooted. Turn off, by holding off button down. Then once it is completely off, then turn it on, BUT when you go to turn it on, keep on button depressed, all the way until it turns on and then some for about 15 seconds, now you just rebooted system. Let me know, mike

Unit was on battery power, shut down, connected to 12v p/s,let charge for a short while, then powered unit up, load bar completes but goes no farther.

Plug unit in 110 power, then turn it off. You are going to manually reboot system. When unit is completely off, then turn on, but this time, when turn it on keep the on button fully depressed, do not let go regardless as the unit is turning on, and even when it is coming on going through its thing, keep on button depressed for 10 seconds after unit fires up. Then let go, and this is manually rebooting it, See if now it functions properly, Please let me know, and if fixed, then the 4 thumbs up for my solution with small comment is most appreciated. Thanks Mike, from

There is no reset button on my garmin nuvi 205w?

There is a Reset button on your GPS. On the bottom of your unit is a black label that has your serial number as well as some certification information. If you feel along the left side of the label you will feel an indentation not too far in from the left edge. This is your Reset button. If you have tried cycling your GPS by turning it On and then Off, but you are still having an issue with the unit, you can then depress this Reset button. Do not use anything with too sharp of a point as you can damage the unit by doing so. Use something that has a softer tip and depress the button for about 10 seconds. This should reset your GPS unit to factory default. This means any Favorites you had stored will be lost. Any other data you programmed in, such as gas price, fuel economy, etc., will also be lost.

Thank you for the opportunity to assist you in resolving your issue. Should you need further information or assistance please do not hesitate to let us know.

Won't turn on. I replaced the battery and still won't turn on

depress the reset button located in the small hole on the unit. Use a paperclip and depress for 5 secs :)

My gps is stuck on magellan boot up screen.

turn on your 1210 once it boots to the magellan screen press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds, once it shuts off, power it back on by pressing and holding the power button for up to ten seconds then let it load.

if that fails, power it up and try the reset button, (either on the bottom or on the side)the little pinhole, and use a paper clip to depress the reset

bjw122266 Have you tried holding the power button down for about 10 seconds or so?

Magellan Maestro 4250 GPS Power Failure

Hi guys. No need to panic. I thought I had the same problem when I got mine but actually there is no problem. Somehow, the off-on switch on the system is kind of funny. U really have to have small finger and depress the switch as far as u can until the system comes on. Might not be the fix you're looking for but give it a try anyway. Nothing to lose. Good luck.
