My car is 1 year old. Black paint. I visited a friend on a farm and the paint now is covered in gold flecks. It's rought to touch and is on windows and side mirrors too. Can't figured out how to remove. Car dealer suggested window cleaner, but it's not working. Farm also had new construction, so not sure if it is cement dust, or chemicals from farm. Please help!

You will need to wash car with a "fallout remover" type wash. This is a semi acidic solution that will remove rust and other enviromental contaminants. If you have paint overspray,it may need a detail clay which will safely remove this paint off the clear coat.Fallout remover and clay can be found at pro automotive detail outlets and web sites.....

Didn't see any new yellow lines being painted on highway on way there or back did you? I could give a couple of suggestions, but you might be safer & better off just stopping at a paint & body shop for advice on what to use, which I'm sure they'll give you for free.

Where is the gear box oil filler on 40 year old ? fiat tractor I have owned 30 years my husband died now trying to do maintenance

Hi Hazel:
Without the model number it's pretty hard for us to try to figure it out.
There are probably at least 3 sources where you can get qualified help on really short notice.
1) The nearest Fiat farm equipment dealer.
2) A local antique farm equipment association.
3) An old "Farm Boy" like myself who lives not too far away.

You have my best wishes.
I sincerely hope that all works out well for you.

50000miles cts 2006 2.8 engine idles a litte rought somtimes a stop lights

You changed the spark plugs twice since 2006?

Every three years-- I do mine

Ignition Coils won't last 8 years, not all of them

You have to look at scan tool data & road test

Can not use a car for years & never work on it

Your dealing with time in years & heat cycles

Nothing at all to do with mileage

Usually 100,000 miles you change oxygen sensors

Yours are 9 years old,so they go based on time & again
scope them, for switching times & look at the data

Don't change your oil 3 times a year, you have engine wear

Could be any number of things causing your cars issues

Scratch on car paint.

It sounds like it hasn't scratched through to the metal yet so you could:

1) Respray the whole panel to remove all unsightliness.2) Touch up the scratch, resulting in quite an ugly repaint.

We sell Volkswagen touch up paint pens, Volkswagen spray paint and other Volkswagen touch up paint products.
Find Your Volkswagen Color and Volkswagen Paint Code Volkswagen codes can be difficult to find. Most Volkswagen ID codes are going to be somewhere around the spare tire area. They are printed on a paper color id tag which is guaranteed to fall off and disappear just when you need to find it.

Positive terminal keeps getting corroded even after 3 weeks.

Try keeping the terminal far away from any moisture and dirt. In fact isolating it may not be a bad idea. Try getting a battery box for it or sealing off the existing one, just make sure to use a drain tube and vent. Some stores have battery terminal isolators, these are less effective but can help. There is also a battery terminal sealant spray that may be helpful if you cannot get/use a battery box. Clean the terminals thoroughly, spray the terminal sealant, and use the battery box for a three way attack. This is especially use full in harsh climates. These methods can also be used on remote battery terminals that are on some cars.

I purchased my Endeavor in 2004, and it has been garage kept since then. This past year I noticed the paint fading really bad on the hood and on top. My dealership nearby where I take my car to get...

I have a 2004 Black Mitsubishi Endeavor with the exact same problem and of course the paint is no longer under warranty. I called 1-888-MITSU2009 (Mon-Fri 8-7 central time). The woman (Mariam) told me to take it to a local Mitsubishi dealer to have the paint inspected. She said they should be able to advise me from there, but if not, call Mitsubishi back and let them know what the dealer said regarding the inspection. I took it to a dealer and had to talk to several different people before they got me to the right one. He looked at it and said it was definitely bad paint. I got a bit lucky because there happened to be a regional Mitsubishi rep. there that day, who also looked at it and said, right there on the spot, that they would take care of it. This was a Friday just a few weeks ago and the following Monday my truck was in a body shop being painted ($4,000 paint job). The Mitsubishi representative told me this seems to be a problem with both black and silver mitsubishi's in and around 2004. Apparantly they are looking at these paint issues case by case, however, I think that is wrong. If you google "bad paint 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor", which I did, you'll be shocked at the number of people with this problem and Mitsubishi hasn't issued some kind of recall. But, they fixed mine. Mileage seems to be a factor, if there is a ton of miles on it they may not cover it. I have 68,700 miles and it was OK. The mitsu rep. also said if it were 1 year older, it probably wouldn't be covered.

Anyway, call the number I posted for you and start there. Its worth the effort - I was ready to get rid of mine, but I like it for one, and wouldn't get much in a trade because of the paint. I also looked into getting it painted - It just looked horrible - all over the hood, roof, down the back lift gate, and some down the doors - horrible. Definitely worth the effort trying with Mitsubishi - saved me $4,000.

Good Luck to You!

Where can I find touch-up paint for my car? If not, do you know what the color code for ebony black is?

A Hyundai dealership will have it. So does PaintScratch.com - check them out. They'll let you pick by car, model year, etc, and give you a match for the OEM factory paint.
