Question about Fujitsu Siemens Siemens (S26361-F2378-L30) Internal DVD Drive
SOURCE: power calibration area full
There are many facts cause "Power calibration area Full" error. First of all clean up your TEMP files. Make sure DVD media you are using is supported by you DVD Writer. CDs are rather easy to write. DVD requires more precise laser beam to channel as its more dense than CD. So physical facts like dust on the lens might be a factor too. Also firmware update for your DVD Writer will be a great step. These are the main factors.
Good Luck

SOURCE: Dvd drive not working on amilo pro v2030
my first suggestion would be to take it in to be repaired professionally, but if you can't then, taking it apart would be risky especially if you are carrying a static charge (one zap and you will be searching for MORE replacement parts or a ENTIRE new computer) one way to avoid this is to use special tools and non static clothing (eg don't wear your favourite fuzzy slippers or big woollen shirt or work on a carpet!). Best bet is to just send it in.

SOURCE: problem with fujitsu laptop esprimo v5535
I suggest doing a manual reset, and if all fails start by removing certain hardware equipment such as memory, wifi cards, etc. If you need more info, please ask.

the device manager show that the dvd drive work properly , but it can not reed any dvd or cd. i don't now if it's damaged or is it a problem that can be solved. the model is Amilo M7405
My issue is that it will not burn DVD's only CD's. The problem also started in November. It seems that the DVD drives are not designed to last longer than 3 years, Even though I have not burned a lot of CD's, let alone DVD's. Anyone know where can one get a replacement?
