The keyboard trys to type, but cant the num lock button beeps, but nothing else happens
Hi there.
Try going to the BIOS and testing the keyboard there to see what happens. You do this by tapping the F10 key at start up when you see the HP INVENT splash screen. (The key may be different just keep an eye on the screen and it will say Fx for setup), try using the up and down arrows here. If it works then it probably just a windows problem, reinstalling the drivers should fix that, if not, or you're not able to get to the BIOS, try a different keyboard and see what happens. If the external works but the internal keyboard fails to function, you maybe looking at a hardware problem from what you are describing. Let me know what happens and we'll go from there! :-)

Display the Start menu by pressing Ctrl+Esc (or the Windows logo key). Move to All Programs by pressing P. Move to Accessories by pressing the Down Arrow key and then Enter. Press Enter again to move to Accessibility. Move to On-Screen Keyboard by pressing the Down Arrow key and then Enter.

got a small bit of liquid on the touchpad, and at first the touchpad wouldn't work and the keyboard was fine, but after restoring the computer to an earlier date the next day (to give it time to dry out) now the touchpad is fine and the keyboard is stuck. the caps lock is locked on and no keys work, only getting a tone sound when pressing them, also tabs open under certain keys like p, and backspace... tried cleaning the keyboard still no luck, and when open microsoft publisher it says that i am pressing the 'control' key down when typing...
