Problem with my combo dvd

My dvd driver automatically opens and closes itself. What may be the problem.

my samsung CD-RW/DVD does not play sony cds and dvds.when we open it automatically it closes.

May not close all the way, somthing is jammed in the back of it possible or a disk is not in all the way (Press down more)

CD opens itself and closes

Either something is wrong with the physical open/close sensors, or there is a computer-virus on your computer that is intentionally causing the open/close actions.

Hi,

Most DVD/CD drive are belt engaged driven by a small motor. If the tray is not sliding in and out by itself, it is highly probable that the belt is cut and therefore of course would require replacement. In some instances, it could be the small motor itself or the servo electronics that control it. There are also known instances when the tray is misaligned or the plastic rail/gear underneath have been worn out.

When I put my cd/dvd in drive after few second itself open.

check your system. you have been infected by some malware that keeps ejecting your DVD automatically.

Go.Video DVD/VHS turns on and off by itself & dvd tray keeps opening and closing too - this started after installing digital cable box to my old tv along with a TiVo series 2

remote control frequrencys are close enough to "cross over"

TV shuts itself off after a few minutes. Will also shut itself off if the DVD open/close button is pushed. Not sure if a DVD is in the machine or not. Any ideas??

I know that shortly after I purchased this tv mine also shut itself off occasionally. The owners manual says that if it is on dvd mode and it's paused or on an inactive menu or something for 15 minutes or so that it would shut itself off. If a dvd is stuck inside it may be causing this? I have no idea about the open/close malfunction.

Combo drive opens and closes automatically

Arav you will have to open this unit up, sounds as thought the units slider has passed the spring sensor. with the unit open manually open the tray, there should be a spring lock release on the right with it upside down facing you. slide the tray all the way back in until you hear it click and lock. You may want to do this several times to make sure no plastic pieces have broken off. If you see or find a piece come out then achances are the spring lock mechanism has snapped, not uncommon on this drive. The screws are easily located on the bottom.
