Have you tried plugging the USB cable into another USB port? There is also one thing that you can do. Try to reinstall the driver from a4tech. Go to Control Panel, Add/Remove programs and then uninstall previous A4tech driver. Locate the latest driver from this link and then download, start installing.
I assume you are looking to have sound from the television through the speakers that are connected to your receiver?
If that is the case then make sure you have connected the audio out from the television to the audio input for what might be labled monitor or TV/SAT. Then turn the volume on the televsion all the way up and switch the input on the receiver to TV/SAT.
