Question about Intel Motherboard
You have to flash the BIOS with the ECS 741GX-M BIOS to add the advanced features that were purposely disabled for the Linspire boxes. Once you do that you'll get all sorts of advanced features.

Just another note it it's by chance a Maxtor drive. Many Maxtor drives come supplied with S.M.A.R.T. disabled by default.
S.M.A.R.T. is disabled in the bios by default because the operating system tends to take over such functions & duplication can cause conflict. If it is a Maxtor, you can go to their site, download & run PowerMax and it will tell you about the s.m.a.r.t. settings among other things.

The Problem is that the BIOS People & Fry's have this thing setup so that you have to do an "ALT+ some other key combination" during POST to be able to get into the "Advanced: feature to be able to set the S.M.A.R.T!
post logo is freezing
I have a Gigabyte GA-945-S3 Mobo; the start-up screen says S.M.A.R.T. is disabled, but when I go into BIOS setup, no way is given to enable it!!!
